zigarrenversand.ch has won the coveted Davidoff Golden Band Awards 2021 in Switzerland. A brilliant event was held at The Chedi Andermatt.

"Davidoff's Golden Band Awards are just around the corner. What do you think, should we take part?" Christian Scheuermann asked Philipp Schenker (both co-owners of zigarrenversand.ch). They leafed through the conditions of participation. "Yes, let's join in and see what happens," replied Philipp. A few months later, the following happened: they won the Davidoff Best Performance Award for Switzerland.
For the first time, an online retailer wins in Switzerland
The signs of the times are pointing more than ever to online retail. The online sector was already booming before the COVID-19 pandemic. This sales channel experienced a huge increase in 2020 during the pandemic. Cigars poured into the zigarrenversand.ch warehouse by the truckload. And the cigars left the warehouse again by the truckload for cigar lovers in Switzerland.
Global Band Awards with mega event planned
A global mega event was actually planned for 2021. The candidates from all countries were supposed to travel to The Chedi Andermatt in Switzerland. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, traveling at the planned time was uncertain. More and more participants canceled and in the end the winners per country were celebrated with an event in their country (see below under resources on the topic).
The pleasure event with zigarrenversand.ch
On 17.12.21 the time had come: Davidoff hosted the pleasure event at The Chedi Andermatt for the Swiss winner. The team from zigarrenversand.ch, representatives from Oettinger Davidoff Basel, a photographer and two guests from the media were also present.
What an experience! Check-in was in the afternoon and we moved into our wonderful rooms. At 5pm we went to the suite and the indulgence reached some fantastic heights. We enjoyed Davidoff cigars, an incredible 14-course flying dinner and an even more incredible 4-course dessert. As always, the chefs and dessert masters at The Chedi Andermatt delivered top performance.
We enjoyed champagne, wine, water and whatever else we wanted to drink. The service staff were super attentive, competent and friendly - true hosts!
After the winning ceremony, a special cocktail was created especially for one of the Davidoff cigars. What a wonderful experience!
Around midnight, the first part of the enjoyment came to an end. The second part took place in The Cigar Library. This is the legendary and legendary cigar lounge in The Chedi Andermatt.
