Davidoff Winston Churchill Limited Edition 2022 — Lighting is super easy. You just have to know the trick to light this perfecto format. Just light the small, open area at the base of the cigar and pull gently. The rest of the smouldering over the first tip hurdle is done by the tobacco itself.

Personal impressions of the pleasure

Recommended acclimatisation: 3 days with cellophane in the humidor

First half

Tongue, palate: Nutty / slightly peppery / cocoa (bittersweet) / wood / slightly acidic
Retronasal: spicy / slightly leathery / coffee beans
R+ ZiZo vacuum technology: spicy / slightly leathery / super-awesome-much-etxtzra-mega coffee beans full of flavour
Umami: juicy / meaty

Second half

It develops constantly and slowly. Around the last third, it becomes more voluminous (even more flavours of wood, cocoa and nut).
At the finale, at the last tip, so to speak, she gets a powerful boost and can suddenly become a bit snappy. She just needs to acclimatise.

Davidoff Winston Churchill Limited Edition 2022 — The ash is compact and firm. In one of the four specimens, it was flaky and brittle.

Conclusion Davidoff Winston Churchill Limited Edition 2022

This novelty from Oettinger Davidoff is a successful work. The smoke of all four examples gave me a lot of pleasure and enjoyment. The different flavour components have a very good balance. They harmonise on the tongue and retronasally. I don't know if you can see the satisfied smile on my face? Probably not... ?

Davidoff Winston Churchill Limited Edition 2022 — It glows almost perfectly and straight. In the four specimens, there was a little crooked burning from about the middle. It usually corrected itself quickly. Once I had to help with the flame (on all four examples). A totally relaxed and uncomplicated smoke.

Tip for beginners: If the cigar glows wedge-shaped at the beginning, why this happens and what you can do

Davidoff Winston Churchill Limited Edition 2022 — Tip for beginners: With Perfecto formats, it can happen at the beginning that the tobacco smoulders inwards in a wedge shape. This is not a fault of the cigar. The tobacco cannot always be optimally placed in the narrow tip. After all, this is a product made by hand. And a human being is not a machine that carries out the same work step with the same movements every time. Just let the cigar smoulder. This usually corrects itself after a few minutes. If not, help carefully with the flame.

Very promising tasting report.
I'm not a particularly big Davidoff fan. But the Late Hour series definitely meets my taste. But you always have to dig a little deeper into your pocket. The Double Perfecto looks incredibly beautiful. The presentation is also very successful. I'm going to ask my trusted cigar retailer for my allocation - preferably a box for storage and x cigars for tasting.

  Hello Andreas, with pleasure. The boxes are really very nice, and the authentic-looking letter from Churchill's nephew also makes a great impression (although of course it was printed many times over). Still, a very nice detail.
