It was August 1, Switzerland's national holiday, and Hans, a passionate cigar smoker, decided to go out into nature and relax with a fine cigar. He hiked to an idyllic spot on the lakeshore, where the birds were chirping and the sun was gently shimmering through the leaves. Hans sat down on a tree stump, lit his cigar and took his first puff with relish. But no sooner had he made himself comfortable than a group of people, laden with barbecue equipment, marched straight towards him.

"Excuse me, sir, but we've reserved our barbecue area here," said a burly man with an apron that read "barbecue master". Hans sighed, packed up his things and set off in search of a new quiet spot.

He found a secluded clearing in the forest and thought that no one would disturb him here. He lit his cigar again and enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere. But suddenly he heard loud voices and the banging of fireworks. A group of teenagers had decided to set off their fireworks right here. Hans could hardly believe how unlucky he was that day. He packed up again and moved on.

He came to an idyllic meadow and thought it was the perfect place. But no sooner had he lit his cigar than he heard a loud "Mäh!" behind him. A flock of militant sheep, led by a particularly tough ram, marched straight towards him. The sheep were obviously not impressed by Hans' cigar smoke and wanted the meadow to themselves. The ram stared at Hans as if to say, "Smoke somewhere else, mate!" Hans sighed deeply, packed his things and set off again.

After several more unsuccessful attempts to find a quiet spot, Hans decided to try his luck in a beer garden. He sat down at a table, ordered a large beer and lit his cigar. At last, he thought, I can smoke in peace. But less than five minutes later, the waiter came over and said: "Excuse me, but smoking is not allowed here."

Completely frustrated, Hans looked around and finally spotted an old friend, Fritz, sitting at the next table and waving at him in a friendly manner. "Come to me, Hans!" called Fritz. "I know an insider tip."

Fritz led Hans to a small, hidden garden behind the beer garden, which was surrounded by high hedges and offered a few cozy seats. "It's quiet here and nobody bothers us," said Fritz, lighting a cigar himself.

Hans could hardly believe his luck. He sat down, lit his cigar again and took a deep puff. Finally, after all the interruptions and disturbances, he could enjoy his cigar in peace. Fritz and Hans spent the rest of the day in this little paradise, smoking their cigars and laughing about the crazy events of the day.

As night fell and the fireworks exploded in the sky, Hans watched as the barbecue master, the youngsters with their fireworks and even the militant sheep were painted in the sky. Suddenly, a group of squirrels stormed into the garden, grabbed Fritz's cigar box and climbed a tree with it.

"What a crazy day," Hans said and laughed as he finished his cigar with relish. "But at least I've got a good story to tell now!"
