Champagne pairing with Le Hoyo de San Juan
Champagne pairing with a Habanos cigar. We enjoyed the Hoyo de Monterrey Le Hoyo de San Juan and tasted two different champagnes. We talk about how champagne tastes with a cigar and we also talk about the century tasting of a 136-year-old Cuban cigar.

136-year-old Cuban cigar tasted
We also talk about something very special in the programme: We tasted a 136-year-old Cuban cigar. There will be a separate blog post about this tasting (you can find the link below). Is there any flavour left in such an old cigar? Spoiler alert: Marie Gerber (Manager Bar & Lounges The Chedi Andermatt) and I were completely flabbergasted. Find out why in this programme.
Champagne enjoyment with a cigar
We enjoyed two different classes of champagne. Mine costs around CHF 50 and Marie Gerber's costs around CHF 300. Experience the history behind the champagne and how the cigar tasted with the champagne.

- We enjoyed the following drinks while chatting
- Champagne Veuve Clicquot Brut
- Champagne KRUG Grand Cuvée Brut
What is Cigars ZEN?
This is a format from Zigarren.Zone Social Network. What does ZEN mean in the context of this format? It is often said that ZEN offers nothing. Neither a teaching, nor a secret, nor answers. It means living life to the fullest. You can find an article about this at Wikipedia. So this is about celebrating the pleasure of a cigar, a drink and a conversation. Simply switching off and taking time for yourself. Simply being and slowing down without pursuing a specific goal.

The article knocks my socks off. A 136-year-old cigar is really great cinema.
I can only confirm that champagne is a great trigger for the flavours of a cigar. In my opinion, it tends to go better with a less powerful cigar.
