There are many facets to enjoyment, and an impressive selection of these could be experienced at the eighth German HABANOS DAY, which took place at Bückeburg Castle on the first weekend in September. 250 aficionadas and aficionados from all over Germany and Austria attended. In the highly impressive Bückeburg Castle, seat of the Princely House of Schaumburg-Lippe, Habanos, probably the best-known luxury product from Cuba, took centre stage.

Attractive seminars on Habanos Day 2023

Once again, guests were able to put together their own individual seminar programme from a wide range of options. Humidor expert Marc André invited guests to compare cigars and explained how storage conditions affect their enjoyment using three differently stored cigars as examples.

Spirits „guru“ Jürgen Deibel provided new ideas for flavourful combinations under the title „Trends from the world of spirits“. Hagen Bastian and Maximilian Frick from the Mount Everest Tea Company introduced the participants to the world of the best-known infusion drink.

Under the guidance of the top Cuban Torcedora Juana Ramos Guerra and Luis Mustelier Pérez, the long-time companion of the Habanos Torcedor tours in Germany, the participants were able to try their hand at the art of „totalmente a mano“ cigar making, while sommelier Christine Dördelmann and Benedict Baumeister from the Bremen Wine College offered exciting insights into the world of fortified wines with Sherry, Madeira and Port.

Claudia Puszkar-Vetter, journalist and expert on cigar manufacturers in Havana, took visitors to Habanos Day on a virtual trip to the Cuban capital, while Jörg Werker from S.T. Dupont presented high-quality accessories for the aficionado.

A special highlight was the 5^THAvenue presented its guests with the world premiere of the Romeo y Julieta Cupidos. This new figurado format with the production name „Veronas“ has a length of 148 mm and a large ring gauge of 55. Habanos S.A. has earmarked this cigar for exclusive sale in the shops of La Casas del Habano and Habanos Specialists. 

Anamary Suárez Quiñones, Trade Counsellor of the Republic of Cuba in Germany, was present at an atmospheric evening event to round off HABANOS DAY 2023 with fine drinks, delicious Habanos and a Caribbean-style buffet. The evening was accompanied by music from Nicholas von der Nahmer and Steffen Dieckow. Marta Paley delighted the audience with her artistry and juggling. The evening was hosted by Henriette Frädrich.

The evening before, over 170 guests had already gathered at Bückeburg Castle for a „smoke-in“ in the magnificent ballroom. 

HABANOS DAY 2023 was supported by S.T. Dupont, Mount Everest Tea Company, Hauser, Bremer Weinkolleg and media partners ZIGARREN Magazine and Smokersnews/Smokersplanet, among others.
