I tested three specimens to solve the puzzle. I carefully cut a notch in the foot of two of them - an experiment with mixed results. On one, the wrapper tore. On the third, I used cigar scissors to make the cut more precise.

I cut two of them with a notch and headed one with the cigar scissors. Yes, that is still the cigar foot that is closed on this cigar.

The cigars could be lit, but two of them burned unevenly over the first two centimeters - a pitfall that occurs from time to time with Salomones.

This special feature makes the cigar an interesting challenge! Unique in its kind, it remains a mystery to be discovered.

Tasting notes

The start was promising!

I had problems with the burn on all three of them. You probably know this: if the burn is crooked and wavy, this can significantly impair the smoking experience. Again and again I had to help with the flame.

The cigar develops moderately. The burn is solala and the flame has to help more often.

But the main reason I deducted points is because of the flavor. You expect a certain complexity and variety in the flavor profile of a cigar in this class. However, the VegaFina Nicaragua Esteli Salomones only offered me a linear progression with few nuances. Sure, the spicy, slightly grassy notes, some light wood and an acidic undertone are recognizable, but overall I missed a more interesting balance.

Of course, this is just my subjective impression. Every cigar lover has their own preferences and taste sensations. So I advise you to make up your own mind. Perhaps you will find something in this cigar that I have missed.
