Tasting Davidoff Nicaragua 10th Anniversary Limited Edition. Today I would like to present you the tasting of this cigar. First, I would like to congratulate Davidoff warmly on the anniversary! In 2013, Davidoff took a new approach and gave the new Nicaragua line a black cigar ring instead of the previous white one. The very special filler tobacco

I had the pleasure of testing the Gran Toro Jubilee cigar. Immediately after lighting, you notice immediately that something very special has happened to the tobacco of the Jubilee cigar: The filler tobacco was allowed to mature namely 6 months in a rum barrel, which is a novelty for Davidoff. This maturation process gives the smoking pleasure from the outset a creamy, soft note. Light pepper, nut and wood notes characterize the taste at the beginning. In the first half, the intensity increases somewhat and coffee beans are mixed in. As the smoke progresses, more coffee beans and more wood notes are added. Maybe even a slight earthiness in the last third. Strength 3/5 (everyone feels differently, just like the taste).

The course of enjoyment

An impressive format!

The course of enjoyment was almost linear for me personally; occasionally the cigar would break out and give me more depth before almost going back to the really very enjoyable, even course. The draw resistance was a bit too light for my taste. But these two points are, of course, an individual preference and not a fault of the cigar. The smoke development is respectable and retronasal you can clearly perceive the rum (somehow like soaked wood mixed with nut, fascinating). The burn is excellent and the ash is stable.

The enjoyment begins!

I just carefully cut the cap and removed it. I have not cut the cigar as usual. So the tobacco is not squeezed, but all the "air channels" are open for enjoyment.

In summary, I can say that the Davidoff Nicaragua 10th Anniversary Limited Edition is a very successful anniversary cigar. I was particularly impressed by the filler tobacco aged in rum barrels, which I also noticed, because I was slightly tipsy. Do not worry, I was not really tipsy, that was a joke 😉 For the price of CHF/EUR 36.00 you get a very high quality cigar with a great and very exceptional taste!
