For the first time in its 35-year history, 5^TH AVENUE Products - the official exclusive importer of Habanos for Germany, Austria and Poland - selected the Diplomáticos brand for an Edición Regional format. And what a format it is! The Diplomáticos Grandes have the "Laguito Especial" format, known from the legendary Trinidad Fundadores. With a length of 192 mm and a ring gauge of 40, it is without doubt one of Habanos' most elegant and beautiful formats. Just like the Fundadores, it has the twisted pigtail at the head of the cigar.

The boxes of 25 are typically double-layered and decorated with the lithographs known in Cuba as "habilitaciones".

Diplomáticos is one of the few Habanos brands that, like Cohiba or Trinidad, was only created after the revolution. Today, there is only one format left in the standard range, Diplomáticos No. 2. This Piramide is highly sought after by connoisseurs, but is unfortunately only rarely produced.

The Habanos brand Diplomáticos has only existed since the 1960s. It is said to have been created in close imitation of the "Montecristo" brand. Interestingly, it was probably initially only intended for the French market. Based on the "Montecristo" brand, there were five different formats when the Diplomáticos brand was introduced, which were designated by numbers (No.1 to No.5). In 1976, two further formats were added, Diplomáticos No.6 and No.7, which corresponded in format to Montecristo Especiales No.1 and No.2.

All of the brand's formats were and are made "totalmente a mano" - entirely by hand - and consist of tobaccos from the Vuelta Abajo growing zone.
