Course of enjoyment and conclusion

The wrapper is silky and exudes a certain elegance. The structure of the cigar is uniform and makes a high-quality impression.

Before lighting, the obligatory cold draw takes place. The train is pleasant and gives hope for a good smoking experience. The lighting succeeds easily and the cigar begins to glow slowly.

Little problems

I had a problem with two CUMPAY Lanceros during the test. Although they steamed well, no smoke came through the cigar. Unfortunately, I was unable to continue smoking these two specimens. It is important to note that this is my personal experience and may be an individual occurrence.

To be sure, I tested two other specimens, which were flawless. This shows that the quality of cigars can vary and it is always advisable to try different specimens to get the full picture.

The draw resistance on two copies of the CUMPAY Lancero was a bit too strong for me personally. You had to strain a little more to pull the smoke through the cigar. A slightly lower draw resistance would have improved the smoking experience. With two other copies, it was optimal.

Strength, aftertaste and course of enjoyment

The strength of the CUMPAY Lancero is in the medium range on a scale of 1 to 5. At the beginning I would rate it 2/5, but in the course of the smoke it increases to 3/5. Everyone feels the strength of a cigar differently.

The aftertaste of the cigar is pleasant and lasts a long time. This gives the overall experience a certain depth and leaves a positive impression.

The aroma of CUMPAY Lancero is spicy and pleasant in the room note, the scent of smoke. On the palate, sweet notes are immediately noticeable, accompanied by a subtle pinch of pepper and a pleasant spiciness. A touch of cocoa and a lot of wood give the cigar an interesting, for me personally a rather linear course.

Smoking a Lancero requires experience and dedication. The fine and elegant cigar must be smoked slowly to avoid overheating. This is important to enjoy the full flavor and this cigar.

Overall, the CUMPAY Lancero is a cigar that has its merits through its elegant appearance and interesting flavor profile. Despite the low draw resistance and possible individual quality variations, it offers a pleasant smoking experience for cigar lovers looking for a medium-bodied cigar with slightly spicy and woody notes.

A cigar test is subjective. The taste of a cigar is influenced by personal taste preferences, taste memories, the shape of the day, what you have eaten or drunk before. Even the lighting mood in the room influences the taste experience. The taste nuances described here therefore do not have to correspond to one's own impressions.
