Corrida Honduras Toro+ wird in Honduras bei Plasencia hergestellt. Der Tabak dieser Corrida stammt 100% aus Honduras und ist eine sogenannte Puro. Eine Puro nennt man eine Zigarre, bei der sowohl der Tabak als auch die Herstellung aus dem selben Land stammt. Heinrich Villiger wurde bei der Lancierung der Marke im Jahr 2017 kritisiert, dass sie eine Nachahmung von Camacho sei. Heinrich Villiger hat dies bei einem mit Zigarren.Zone Social Network Interview bestätigt (siehe nachfolgendes Video). Vor allem der Schweizer Fachhandel witzelte damals: „Jetzt hat der Villiger auch eine Camacho.“ Heute ist CORRIDA eine etablierte Marke mit vielen Liebhabern. Ich habe die Zigarre getestet.

First half

• Tongue, palate: sanft süsslich / leicht säuerlich / herrlicher Kakao (zartbitter) / nussig
• Retronasal: etwas Pfeffer / Pilze im Wald / Holz
• R+ ZiZo vacuum technology: etwas Pfeffer / frisches Holz im Wald
• Umami: juicy / roasted

Second half

• Eine richtig fantastische Balance der Geschmacksnuancen. Schon in der ersten Hälfte harmonieren die unterschiedlichen Aromen sehr gut ineinander. Die zweite Hälfte wird nussiger und etwas Erde kommt dazu.

What is the "R+ ZiZo vacuum technology"?

This is the consummate pleasure of a cigar. Hard to describe. I'll try. Here's an example: a baby sucking on a pacifier. Try this technique with a cigar. Very little smoke enters the mouth. But this passes over the tongue and goes right through the nose. I tried it on about 10 cigars before I mastered it. Please be very careful with this technique when practicing: the smoke got to the back of my larynx several times when I did this. It was really bad. But now that I can do it, it's an accomplished technique for enjoying a cigar.

What is umami?

This means "savory", "spicy", "essence", "meaty". This blending of taste sensations is perceived in the middle of the tongue. You can find a good article about it on Wikipedia. 

Non Cuba cigars and the important acclimatization

Acclimatization recommendation: 2 weeks in the humidor with cellophane.

The fact is: You don't know when the cigar was imported and how long its resting period was at the importer. You also do not know how long the resting phase was at the dealer. The cigars have a shock after their transport from the tropics to us in Europe. They have to acclimatize first. The industry is sales-oriented. The cigars have to get to the retail market quickly. Therefore, it can happen that they do not taste as they should.

If you buy single copies

Place the cigar with the cellophane in the humidor. If your cigar does not have cellophane: Put them in tubos and then in the humidor. Or you can put the single cigar in a Zippo bag and put a small Boveda in it. Then you put it closed in the humidor. Cigars that are stored open without cellophane or a box lose their flavor very quickly. This is proven in this article with experiments.

Fazit Corrida Honduras Toro+

Eine richtig fantastische Balance der Geschmacksnuancen. Schon in der ersten Hälfte harmonieren die unterschiedlichen Aromen sehr gut ineinander. Die zweite Hälfte wird nussiger und etwas Erde kommt dazu. Der Abbrand war leicht schräg. Er korrigierte sich meistens von selbst. Ab und zu musste die Flamme helfen.

Ich habe die Zigarre mit dem klassischen V-Cut geöffnet. Für diesen Durchmesser der Zigarre war das ein bisschen zu viel. Daher war der Zugwiderstand etwas leicht, was natürlich kein Fehler der Zigarre ist.

Die Corrida Honduras Toro+ ist ein Qualitätsprodukt. Sie wird bei Plasencia in Honduras gefertigt aus 100% Honduras Tabak. Es ist also eine sogenannte Puro (eine Zigarre, die komplett in einem einzigen Land gefertigt wird und der Tabak aus dem selben Land stammt).

Die Asche ist stabil. Man sollte es nicht übertreiben und nach etwa 3 cm abaschen. Ich hatte fast 1.5 Stunden Genuss mit dieser Zigarre. Wie immer gilt bei jeder Zigarre: Langsam daran ziehen und nicht zu oft, damit sie nicht überhitzt und dadurch der Geschmack ruiniert wird.

Aus der CORRIDA Reihe mag ich die Honduras am liebsten. Auf Platz 2 ist bei mir die Nicaragua. Platz 3 Brasil und Platz 4 Dom. Republik.
