About COHIBA

Cohiba is without a doubt a very special cigar brand. Its history is unique in every respect and entire books have been written about it. It was created in 1966 especially for President Fidel Castro and manufactured in the then top secret, but now world-famous El Laguito factory. In addition to being consumed by the Cuban leadership, the Cohibas were exclusively representative gifts for heads of state and diplomats. Since 1982, Cohiba brand cigars have also been available on the open market in limited quantities.

Cohiba is an ancient word used by the Tainos, the indigenous natives, for the wraps of tobacco leaves that they smoked. Columbus' report attests to these wrappers as the first known form of cigar.

It has a length of 132 mm and a large ring gauge of 53. It is the first new Habano since 1989 to complement the "Línea Clásica" and will be the cigar with the largest diameter in Cohiba's standard range in future. For its tobacco blend, a selection of the finest tobaccos from the best tobacco plantations in San Juan y Martínez and San Luis in the Vuelta Abajo growing region in the province of Pinar del Rio is used.

Cohiba Ambar is sold in the brand's typical lacquered boxes. They contain ten cigars.
