Camacho, known for its bold cigars, has opened an exciting new chapter in Switzerland: a combination of premium cigars and barbecue. While pairings with whisky, rum or wine have long been established in the cigar world, Camacho is bringing a breath of fresh air to the scene with a ground-breaking approach: cigars and barbecues. A review from the Swiss cigar scene.

Camacho and "Big Sam"
The guests were able to enjoy the cigars with a fantastic Asian hamburger.
Together with Samy Scheller, better known as "Big Sam", pitmaster and head chef of the renowned Steakhouse Schmitte in Birmenstorf, Camacho presented the "Grill and Chill Cookbook" this summer. This cookbook, which was developed with a great deal of dedication and culinary expertise, presents 13 unique recipes - each of which is matched to a perfectly selected cigar combination. The aim of the book is to create a sensory journey in which taste and aromas merge into an unforgettable experience, both when eating and smoking. The photos in the cookbook were taken by cigar enthusiast and photographer Christian Schmid, FotoWerk 132 (as were the photos in this article).
Big Sam - the master. I've never met a meat connoisseur like him before. A few days after my visit to the event, my wife and I visited his restaurant. It was an absolute blast!
Four exclusive events in Switzerland
I attended one event and was pleased to see that an above-average number of women were among the cigar connoisseurs.
To celebrate this new concept, four exclusive events were organized in Switzerland. Here, cigar lovers met barbecue enthusiasts and it became clear that barbecue and cigars belong together. Each participant received a copy of the limited edition "Camacho Grill and Chill Cookbook" - a true rarity that is currently not available for purchase. According to the Camacho Product Manager at Oettinger Davidoff Basel (Luca Corpina), the coveted cookbooks were only intended for the event participants. However, it is worth keeping an eye on the Dürr cigar stores in the coming months in case more copies turn up.
The welcome drink was very tasty!
Camacho Broadleaf
The Camacho Broadleaf, an aromatic cigar with a broadleaf wrapper from Honduras, was a particular focus of the events. The cigar was deliberately combined with the menus to challenge the aficionados' taste buds and bring this powerful cigar back into the spotlight.
The "Grill and Chill" events were a great success and impressively demonstrated that Camacho not only produces cigars, but also creates an overall experience of taste, passion and adventure. Cigars and barbecue - a pairing that aficionados in Switzerland will not soon forget.
As you can see, I was delighted:
mmmm.... 😅
