The new series is the first in the history of Habanos, S.A. to be made 100% from tobacco grown in the San Luis growing zone (Vuelta Abajo, Pinar del Rio). This gives them a special aromatic complexity.

  1. Why they went from red to blue for the classic Partagas belly band...no idea. At first glance, it looks to me like a non-Cuba Partagas belly band for the American market. Fortunately, there's no accounting for taste. Fancy boxes, fancy cigars, fancy formats, fancy price, something above the R&J d'Oro series I guess...we'll see.

    1. I have heard that this line is positioned in the top price segment. So somewhere between Cohiba, Trinidad and RyJ Linea de Oro. So it makes sense from a marketing point of view that the Anilla has a different color. I think it's great. I'm curious to see how they will taste and what the ageing potential will be like.

      1. Jo, I know why it's a different color, it's also chic. But it still looks "disturbing" to me personally. Monte Linea 1935 and R&J Linea d'Oro emphasize the segment with more gold on the specific sleeve, another sleeve at the end of the brand, exclusive boxes, but remain true to themselves. I don't know of any other line where there is a corresponding "sidestep" in the brand identity.
