MBF Cigars and a new story begins

What are MBF Cigars? MBF Cigars stands for M.B. Fuma. The new brand from Jared Michaeli Ingrisano, former president of Mombacho Cigars and co-founder of Favilli, is launching its own line of cigars in 2024 - initially in the USA. I spoke to him and here is his new brand.

Inspired by Italian culture

America was shaped by Italian immigrants.

Inspired by the Italian culture shaped by immigrants to America in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, MBF Cigars offers a fresh and authentic selection of handcrafted Nicaraguan brands that will be available in the U.S. in just a few months. Thanks to the former president of Mombacho & Favilli, a completely new brand and story is being created. It will initially be available for purchase in the USA and will be launched in the course of 2024.

When are MBF Cigars coming?

I asked Jared when the cigars will be launched. „During 2024, we will begin launching our portfolio, initially visiting areas in our home state of Florida, USA. We will start with the Straight Off the Boat line. I'm not sure yet if and when the cigars will be available outside of the US. The focus is really on the US market.“

Let's start from the beginning: Mombacho no longer exists

Jared Michaeli was President of Mombacho and co-founder of Favilli. On 10 June 2013, I received the news that the popular cigar brand MOMBACHO is no longer being produced. When asked, Jared Michaeli replied: “Mombacho has not been produced for over a year and a half.” You can find the link to the media release below under „Resources on the topic „You may also be interested in“.

Legal disputes in Germany

Editor's note: In Germany, there are repeated legal disputes between cigar manufacturers and the authorities. This is due to infringements of protected designations of origin on tobacco products. In particular, terms such as „Habano Seed“ and „Habanos“ and the like are severely penalised by German courts.

MBF Cigars also uses such tobacco designations. However, the editorial team has taken the cautious step of removing the offending terms in order to avoid possible legal consequences. However, some images of the cigars concerned still show traces of these protected designations.

The editors have informed the owner of MBF Cigars of the legal situation applicable in Germany if he intends to sell his cigars in Germany. The use of protected designations of origin can result in severe penalties and legal proceedings. The situation shows how important it is to pay close attention to the rules and guidelines in international trade in order to avoid legal conflicts. See link under „This might also interest you.“

NOV30 stands for 30 November, a milestone for our company and the feast day of Saint Andrew, whose symbol or martyrdom has adorned the Florida flag for more than five centuries. Our connection to Florida goes back to the founding of La Florida. I asked Jared what it was all about? He replied, „Boxing yes, I've been working at a high level in media and advertising for boxing for years. We have made cigars for some private individuals and work with some big names that some of you may know. I also make the cigars for all the big fights.“
