The cold smell: sweetish wood, almost a smell of solid honey - fantastic. The scent of the smoke: rich and full.

Personal impressions of pleasure

Recommended acclimatization: 4 days with cellophane in the humidor is good / To give the tobacco a little more rest, I suggest an acclimatization of 5 weeks.

First half

  • Tongue, palate: Black pepper / incredibly dark walnuts / dark, mossy wood / very dark chocolate (cocoa) / I don't know why I also think of "geranium soil" (is that still possible?)
  • Retronasal: Black pepper / roasted aromas of walnuts and wood
  • R+ ZiZo vacuum technology: BANG! Brain explodes. Need to recover first. Read on in "Second half".
  • Umami: juicy / meaty
  • Strength 4/5, depending on daily form 5/5
La Aurora Fernando Leon Belicoso Limited Edition
The pairing with the rum: a dream combination! Malty, sweet, fruity, mild, warm - fantastic interplay with the cigar!

Second half

  • So, I've recovered a bit. So, here's the info for the R+ technique: Imagine you're in a room of about 20 m2. This room is crammed from floor to ceiling with espresso bean bags and very dark, mossy wood. You realize that smoke is rising from a corner because you can smell it. Within 10 seconds, the whole room is ablaze and you can imagine the smell of burning espresso beans and the dark, mossy wood. That was my experience at R+ Technik.
  • Have I gone crazy?
  • The cigar is constantly evolving. I found the second half a little discordant, but this is not a fault of the cigar, it simply needs a few weeks to acclimatize
  • A pleasure to the end

The cigar permanently increases its fullness.

Conclusion La Aurora Fernando Leon Belicoso Limited Edition

This cigar is suitable for cigar lovers who can handle the full force of tobacco from five countries. The wrapper is 13 years old and the country of origin is not revealed. Maybe it's even six countries? My guess is Mexico.

Normally you only cut off a small corner of the Belicoso. With this cigar it can take more, try it out. Cut off a little at first and then gradually a little more until the draw resistance and smoke development are optimal for you.

I tested three specimens. The first specimen in the morning; strength 5/5. The second specimen one day later after lunch; strength 4/5. The third specimen two days later in the morning; strength 4/5.

Such a wonderful treat! The anilla is already sizzling!

I was struck by the strong presence of dark walnuts and lots of wood in all the cigars. At no point were the cigars astringent. They were very full-bodied, peppery, lots of dark chocolate (cocoa), woody, mossy - a really great tobacco blend.

All three specimens burned slightly wavy in places, which corrected itself. I had to use the flame to straighten out the crooked burn on all of them. This is nothing dramatic, one should not wait too long with the correction; please be careful so that the cigar does not overheat.

It smolders for a long time and the ash is compact in places and flaky in others. The last specimen had a crater burn about two centimeters long about halfway through and it tasted strange. However, when this spot was overcome, it tasted as before (after degassing) and smouldered as before.

I saw the box in the photo and not live. It looks elaborately constructed; the tray with the cigars can be removed, it all looks very classy.

I think the price of CHF 20.50 per cigar is extremely fair.

A quick photo before the anilla catches fire!

The cigar is not a lightweight. Inexperienced cigar smokers must have eaten very well beforehand and always have a non-alcoholic sugar drink ready; it is best to smoke outside so that you can always breathe fresh air. This can help to avoid a nicotine shock.

Uff - just made it! The Anilla has a high-quality finish. Great paper, precise embossing, great color combination.

For the experienced cigar connoisseur: dig in. Order the cigars from your dealer. There are 80 boxes of this exclusive cigar in Switzerland.

Pairing with rum. Yes, I would also like to comment on this in detail: A DREAM COMBI!

End. ?

As always, "If the cigar tastes good to me, then maybe to you. But if you don't like it, then there's more for me!" 🙂
