Joya de Nicaragua Antaño Gran Consul in the test. I tested three specimens. The tobacco comes from Nicaragua. The wrapper is dark brown and has been aged for 5 years. I recommend this cigar for experienced cigar smokers. You can find all the information here in the photo test report.

Joya Nicaragua Antaño Gran Consul. Very cool format. Length: 120 mm / ring gauge 54 The shape: Torpedo and the format is called Gran Consul. In Switzerland, the cigar costs CHF 9.40 (status December 2022), a little more or less depending on the source.

Oily wrapper leaf and very rich in flavour.

Lighting is a little difficult. All three of the cigars I tested took longer to light up. But then the burn was perfect and it smouldered excellently.

The wrapper is aged for five years. Wow, the flavour is really great.

The room note (aroma or scent of the smoke) is spicy and rich. Quite marvellous.

I had a light, smoky whisky to go with it. It was a perfect match. Slightly sweet, caramel, not too spicy and slightly smoky. Marvellous!

The cigar is tightly rolled. The draw resistance is therefore already at the upper strong limit. The smoke, and therefore the flavour, nevertheless slips through the „smoke channels“ into the mouth.

The ash is stable and very firm. Great tobacco! And well rolled, although a little too firm.
