For the twelfth year in a row, Davidoff is launching a limited edition to celebrate the Chinese New Year. The Davidoff Year of the Dragon Limited Edition 2024 delights aficionados and collectors worldwide with an extensive selection of products centred on the sign of the zodiac. The launch marks the first time that Davidoff has completed an entire zodiac cycle, which began with the snake in 2013. In 2024, Davidoff launches a limited edition Double Corona cigar made from eight different types of tobacco, a special pipe tobacco blend, a cutter, an ashtray, a Masterpiece humidor and another very limited edition Gran Toro cigar, which is available exclusively to the valued customers of the Davidoff of Geneva since 1911 flagship stores.

People born in the Year of the Dragon are eloquent and passionate leaders with a strong sense of ambition and a quick temper. The dragon is the largest and most important sign in the entire zodiac calendar. The limited edition Double Corona consists of 8 different tobaccos from the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, Mexico and Ecuador, which together are 60 years old. The cigar surprises aficionados with an uncut foot, which means that a good 2 cm are enjoyed without the wrapper at the start. This requires extreme precision not only when rolling, but also when blending.

Despite the lack of wrapper, the initial flavour is very pleasant and demonstrates a high level of craftsmanship: The master blenders have succeeded in creating a fascinating change of flavour as soon as the wrapper is added, contributing to the experience with additional depth and complexity of flavours. The foot picks up on the untamed personality of the dragon in the flavour. Visually, it depicts the fire-breathing dragon.

The Double Corona starts with notes of earth, wood and herbs. As soon as the wrapper gains the upper hand, the flavour changes to rich notes of roasted nuts, cream and subtle liquorice. The intensity increases in the second third, while notes of sweet honey, white pepper and citrus fruits take over. In the last third of the cigar, fresh spice and oak complement the dominant notes of dark chocolate. With its medium intensity and a smoking time of 90 to 100 minutes, the cigar is ideal for filling special times.

The Year of the Dragon ashtray has a round shape with two sloping shelves and offers ample space for two cigars and their ashes. The 588 numbered pieces are made from premium porcelain in France. The Year of the Dragon cutter, made in Germany and plated in gold, enables the most precise cuts for cigars up to RG 56 with its razor-sharp double blades. The serial number of all 588 pieces is precisely engraved in palladium.

The Year of the Dragon pipe tobacco delights with tobaccos from Brazil, Zimbabwe, India, Malawi, China and Cyprus, which together create pleasant notes of blackberries, banana and wild berries that blend together to create a flavour based on the dragon fruit (pitaya). The red lacquered tin is limited to 5400 pieces worldwide.

Masterpiece Humidor & Flagship Exclusive - special Gran Toro cigars for connoisseurs

The Year of the Dragon Masterpiece Humidor is by far Davidoff's most exclusive product for this sign of the zodiac and the epitome of elegance and power. It is handcrafted in France and features a handsome work of art that is the result of a collaboration between two renowned artists. Chinese oil painter Zhang Zhaoying created his vision of the legend of the two dragons, and mosaicist Sika Viagbo brought it to life on the humidor with a remarkable mosaic of hundreds of pieces of glass, mirrors and brushed brass in 200 hours of handwork. The humidor is numbered and filled with 88 Gran Toro cigars. Only 25 pieces are available worldwide.

The Davidoff Year of the Dragon Flagship Exclusive is the brand's second edition centred around a Chinese zodiac sign, which is available exclusively to the valued customers of the Davidoff of Geneva since 1911 flagship stores. The impressive box in the Year of the Dragon design contains 24 Gran Toro cigars, which can otherwise only be found in the Masterpiece humidor. With the same blend as the Year of the Dragon Limited Edition 2024 Double Corona cigar, the Gran Toro also surprises with an uncut foot and thus offers a similarly adventurous flavour experience with a slightly smoother and more balanced enjoyment due to its format and ring gauge. This edition is limited to 600 boxes worldwide.
