A real Maduro is made of time - because time creates taste

To create the sweet notes that are typical of a true maduro taste experience, Davidoff has invested 16 months of fermentation and 2 years of ageing in this cigar. All formats are wrapped in a dark Ecuadorian wrapper of the Corte #7 leaf grade, which accounts for almost half of the overall aroma.

This leaf grows on the upper part of the tobacco plant, where it receives the most sunlight and therefore develops a thicker structure. A leaf of this texture requires significantly more time to ferment naturally. Davidoff has therefore doubled the fermentation time of the Maduro's wrapper leaf in order to create a natural temperature increase in the fermentation stack that is adapted to the leaf.

The new Davidoff Maduro is available in Toro, Robusto and Short Corona formats.

The heat ultimately ensures the sweeter, finer and more aromatic taste of the Maduro. "With our new Maduro line, time makes all the difference. We refrain from adding additional heat sources and allow nature and time to perfect the tobacco in our expertly monitored and maintained fermentation stack.

This labor-intensive and time-consuming process, accompanied by repeated testing and followed by a long maturation period, has given us a refined cigar with a flavor profile and body that will be highly sought after in the market. I am sure that our new Maduro, in which we have invested so much knowledge and dedication, will fill the time of our aficionados beautifully," says Edward Simon, CMO at Oettinger Davidoff.

Taste experience - simply more Maduro

The blend, composed of tobaccos from Ecuador, Mexico and the Dominican Republic, offers a palate stimulation typical of a genuine Maduro cigar. The notable influence of the Ecuadorian wrapper leaf in particular ensures a sweet and creamy experience.

The start of the Maduro is characterized by a dominant sweetness, which is heralded by deep notes of dark chocolate and accompanied by creaminess. Hints of nuts and dried fruit complete the first third. Sweet aromas of honey gain the upper hand in the middle section. Complementary but never overpowering notes of oak draw attention to themselves, while the persistent creaminess underpins the stimulation.

In the grand finale of the cigar, the previous predominant sweetness gives way to a spicier taste. Dominant notes of roasted nuts and aromas of earth and white pepper provide dynamism and bring this entertaining taste experience to a close.

Davidoff presents its new Maduro line in an elegant wooden box with a loose lid. The satin finish of the box and a black and gold second band with black and gold elements on the cigars emphasize the premium character of the line.
