Working with the tool is simple. You can use it on paper or electronically.

Here is an example how to work with it

Note on strength (nicotine): A beginner cigar smoker may rate the strength as 2 because the cigar is subjectively too strong for him. Some time later, when he puffs the same cigar again, the strength no longer seems so strong and he rates the strength with a score of 5.
