Aladino cigars - a selection
I was allowed to decide which Aladino cigar I wanted to try and I chose the „red“ one because I was in the mood for a toro cigar. I recommend you try out the different lines and discover your own preferences!
The Aladino Connecticut is a mild cigar that is perfect for coffee in the morning. The Corojo line is medium-bodied; I would try it after lunch. I would have been interested in the Corojo Reserva too, but I was afraid it would knock me out. Maybe I'm a wimp, but for me it doesn't always have to be the strongest cigar to please. The Corojo Reserva is perfect after a good dinner, perhaps with a rum that's not too sweet.
My choice fell on the „Cameroon“. Yes, and it also belongs in the stronger category. But I'm a PRO, so I'll get through it! ?

The first 5 minutes

The wrapper leaf is carefully matured for two years after harvesting before wrapping the cigar and providing a unique flavour experience.
The medium brown (slightly dark brown) colour of the wrapper and the slightly thicker vein structure bothered me a little at first glance. But of course I realise that this is a natural product and that I am complaining at a high level. Overall, however, the construction is even and the cold draw is slightly woody and sweet with optimum draw resistance. The strength is 2/5.

The first half of the Aladino Cameroon Toro

The first half of the cigar offers a good balance between acidity and bitter cocoa, mixed with wood. The ash is compact and the occasional crooked burn is limited. Individual corrections with the flame are necessary, but the cigar has also corrected itself. The strength here is a maximum of 3/5.
The second half will be even better!

A nutty note is added in the second half, accompanied by more wood and cocoa. The acidity decreases and a slight sweetness is added. The ash remains compact and the burn improves. The cigar becomes even more full-bodied in the second half and the smoke is pleasantly rich. The finish is also very pleasant, with lots of roasted flavours of nut and wood. In the aftertaste, strong roasted flavours of wood are added, which makes for a very interesting taste experience. Now the strength is 4/5!
Conclusion
Overall, the Aladino Cameroon Toro is an uncomplicated cigar that smoulders for a long time and offers a lovely smoking experience. It is a recommendation from Christoph Läubin, owner of zigarren-online.ch, and I am happy to endorse this recommendation. With a price of CHF 17.00, it may not be one of the cheapest cigars, but it is definitely worth the money thanks to its unique flavour and high-quality workmanship.

The secret behind the Aladino Cameroon cigar
With the Aladino brand, the Eiroa family, led by Justo Eiroa, has created a new line of cigars that harks back to its roots in the Cuban tobacco industry. The Eiroas“ aims were clear: to develop an "old fashioned" cigar that was reminiscent of the traditional Cuban cigars of the past. These cigars should be strong, flavourful and perfectly balanced. The result is a great cigar! The cigar is made from Corojo tobacco grown on the family farm in the Jamastran Valley in Honduras.
A cigar test is subjective. The flavour of a cigar is influenced by personal taste preferences, taste memories, the mood of the day, what you have eaten or drunk beforehand. Even the lighting in the room influences the flavour experience. The flavour nuances described here therefore do not necessarily correspond to your own impressions.
