Aladino cigars - a selection

I was allowed to decide which cigar of Aladino I wanted to test and I chose the "red" because I was in the mood for a Toro cigar. I recommend you try the different lines and discover your own preferences!

The Aladino Connecticut is a mild cigar that is great for coffee in the morning. The Corojo line is medium-bodied; I would taste those after lunch. I would have been interested in the Corojo Reserva as well, but I was afraid it would knock me out. Maybe I'm a wimp, but for me, it doesn't always have to be the strongest cigar to please. The Corojo Reserva fits after a good dinner, perhaps with a rum that is not too sweet.

My choice fell on the "Cameroon". Yes, and it is also in the stronger category. But I'm a PRO, so I'll get through this! ?

The first 5 minutes

Aladino Cameroon Toro

The wrapper leaf is carefully aged for two years after harvest before wrapping the cigar and providing a unique taste experience.

The medium brown (slightly dark brown) color of the wrapper and the slightly thicker vein structure bothered me a bit at first glance. But of course I know that it is a natural product and I grumble at a high level. Overall, though, the build is even and the cold draw is slightly woodsy-sweet with optimal draw resistance. The strength is 2/5.

The first half of the Aladino Cameroon Toro

The first half of the cigar offers a good balance of acidity and bittersweet cocoa mixed with wood. The ash is compact and the occasional crooked burn is contained. Individual corrections with the flame are necessary, but the cigar has also corrected itself. The strength here is a maximum of 3/5.

The second half will be even better!

The second half adds a nutty note, accompanied by more wood and cocoa. The acidity decreases and a slight sweetness is added. The ash remains compact and the burn improves. The cigar becomes even more full-bodied in the second half and the smoke is pleasantly rich. The finish is also very pleasant, with lots of roasted nut and wood flavors. In the aftertaste, strong roasted wood flavors are added, making for a very interesting taste experience. Now the strength is 4/5!

Conclusion

Overall, the Aladino Cameroon Toro is an uncomplicated cigar that glows for a long time and offers a nice smoking experience. It is a recommendation from Christoph Läubin, owner of zigarren-online.ch and I gladly join this recommendation. With a price of CHF 17.00, it is not one of the cheap cigars, but is definitely worth the money due to its unique taste and high-quality processing.

The secret behind the Aladino Cameroon cigar

The Eiroa family, led by Justo Eiroa, has created the Aladino brand, a new line of cigars that harkens back to its roots in the Cuban tobacco industry. The Eiroas' goals were clear: to develop an "Old Fashioned" cigar reminiscent of the traditional Cuban cigars of the past. These cigars were to be strong, spicy and perfectly balanced. The result is a great cigar! The cigar is made from Corojo tobacco grown on the family farm in the Jamastran Valley in Honduras.

A cigar test is subjective. The taste of a cigar is influenced by personal taste preferences, taste memories, the shape of the day, what you have eaten or drunk before. Even the lighting mood in the room influences the taste experience. The taste nuances described here therefore do not have to correspond to one's own impressions.
