Zino Nicaragua GORDO test report incl. pairing with ZINO whisky beer

Zino Nicaragua GORDO, this is my review of this novelty. I have chosen to pair it with: ZINO whisky beer (this is not available to buy, but is exclusively available at ZINO Nicaragua events). Whether I stay sober during and after the test report is explained in this article.

Personal impressions of the pleasure

Recommended acclimatisation: 3 days with cellophane in the humidor

First half

Tongue, palate: Slightly woody / nutty / slightly tart / cocoa (dark chocolate)

Retronasal: lots of coffee beans and burning wood

R+ ZiZo vacuum technology: Still going? Exploding coffee beans - unbelievable!

Umami: juicy / slightly rusty

Strength 2/5

Second half

Now a good portion of NUT is added. More wood, a hint of leather and such a small amount of sweetness that I can hardly describe it (and I can't really). Simply awesome.

Conclusion Zino Nicaragua GORDO with pairing whisky beer

The burn of this GORDO is simply great. It smoulders long and evenly. The ash is quite stable, but is not made of concrete. Doing! And the ash has already leaked into the beer - rubbish! So I knocked the ash out (with a spoon) and that was that. I'm already a fan of the Zino Nicaragua line; and this GORDO takes my enjoyment to the next level!

A Gordo for this extremely cool price - you absolutely have to try it. It's light and its flavour nuances are simply great!

You're just waiting for me to get drunk and write some rubbish. Look at the beer:

When I heard that this beer was brewed with whisky, I thought: „Ewww, such a tipple!“ But hello, prejudices are shit. This beer is an absolute pleasure-OBER-HAMMEEERRRRR!!! It tasted slightly tart to me, somehow also slightly citrusy-sweet, a great beer flavour with a hint of whisky.
