This second category is exactly where the VegaFina Classic Year of the Horse 2026: a limited New Year's edition that continues a series that has been creating tangible anticipation among aficionados for years.

Caballo de Paso Higüeyano

At the centre is the Horse - in Chinese symbolism symbolises the Power, freedom and nobility. VegaFina also associates this motif with the Dominican Republic, where the cigars are made: honouring the Caballo de Paso Higüeyano, an emblematic breed of horse there. In this way, the New Year's theme is not just a stick-on label, but a concept that interlinks origin and idea.

Grupo de Maestros

The edition was created in the Tabacalera de García under the direction of the Grupo de Maestros. The mixture is based on a Harmonious composition from tobaccos from the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua and Ecuador. That doesn't sound like showmanship, but like „balance first“ - like a cigar that doesn't shout, but speaks with confidence.

The Vitola: large, present, with fine detail

The format is called Higüeyanos (56 × 152 mm) - an appearance with a broad shoulder and enough space for flavours to develop. Particularly important is the Cigar head: Its shape is reminiscent of the Tail of a horse. Not a bold show, but rather a subtle reminiscence that you only really appreciate at second glance - and then never forget.

In the smoke: creamy-woody with a sweet echo

The cigar is aromatic creamy-woody, in addition Hints of coffee, cocoa and molasses. And out the back remains a Gently sweetish finish - this quiet finale, which does not „end“ the smoke, but lets it fade away elegantly.

Packaging & limitation: Red, gold - and the eight

The edition is presented in a elegant, red lacquered wooden box with golden accents. Each box contains 16 cigars, arranged in two rows of eight - an allusion to the Lucky number eight in Chinese culture. Worldwide only 4,300 numbered boxes available. Collectors can see immediately: this is not „back sometime“, this is „now or never“.
