Anyone familiar with the exclusive 5-star deluxe hotel knows: The Chedi Andermatt is different. The Chedi Andermatt is much more than a luxury hotel. It is a destination in its own right. Since opening in 2013, the jewel created by investor Samih Sawiris has been crowned and honoured with countless awards. The recipe for success lies in differentiation. And in the unique spa. And also in the exceptional cuisine, in the unique experiences realised by a dedicated team.

In 2013, star architect Jean-Michel Gathy created an architectural icon in the Swiss Alps with The Chedi Andermatt. At 1,447 metres above sea level, Asian flair meets casual elegance. The open design and spacious rooms reflect an informal form of hospitality. The deluxe hotel offers relaxation and enjoyment in a relaxed atmosphere without the stiff 5-star corset. Five restaurants and bars as well as a 2,400 square metre spa round off the offer. Exceptional signature experiences make your stay an unforgettable experience. The Chedi Andermatt is the centrepiece of the up-and-coming mountain village of Andermatt with 119 casual and unique rooms and suites.

Taste the difference: Culinary superlatives

With four studio kitchens, chef Carsten Kypke whisks guests away to a symbiosis of Asian and Alpine dishes in The Restaurant and delights them with a globally unique highlight, a five-metre-high cheese tower made of glass, which tempts guests with over 40 regional and national delicacies. The two Japanese gourmet restaurants, one of which is located in the heart of the hotel and one high up on the mountain at 2,300 metres above sea level, cause just as much of a sensation.

This makes The Japanese by The Chedi Andermatt the highest Japanese restaurant in Switzerland. Both Japanese gourmet restaurants have been awarded one Michelin star each, The Japanese Restaurant has also been honoured with 17 points by GaultMillau and its sister restaurant on the Gütsch with 15 GaultMillau points. From May 2023, the two talented twins and top chefs Dominik Sato and Fabio Toffolon will take over the reins at The Japanese Restaurant and The Japanese by The Chedi Andermatt.

Asian-inspired and covering 2,400 square metres, the breathtaking The Spa and Health Club offers a sensual experience in a class of its own. The architecturally beautifully designed hydrotherapy area with saunas and steam baths, the longest indoor pool in Switzerland at 35 metres, a heated outdoor pool with panoramic views and the luxurious spa suites are spread over three floors and offer space for personal fulfilment. The high-quality products of the two exclusive cosmetic lines Omorovicza and Tata Harper, used in finely tuned, Far Eastern-inspired treatments, ensure unforgettable, differentiating spa moments and a new you.

Live the difference: Signature Experiences

Some «once in a lifetime» experiences are probably only available at The Chedi Andermatt. And it is the pride of the dedicated team that this is the case. These special signature experiences appeal to all the senses and range from impressive herbal hikes and even alpine cheese-making to racy vintage car panoramic drives along the breathtaking Tremola. The James Bond package as a tribute to Andermatt as a film set, «Labels of Love» with a private shopping experience or «a decade of timeless travel» together with Hublot also stand for very special, personal experiences in a class of their own. The Signature Experiences also include in-house experiences such as a visit to The Cigar Library, which boasts the largest selection of cigars in the hotel industry worldwide - with 900 different cigars from around 15 countries and numerous rarities and special editions.

Create the difference: «The Chedi» philosophy in action

Honest and warm hospitality at the highest level «creates the difference». Jean-Yves Blatt, who has successfully managed the 5-star deluxe hotel with his experienced and dedicated team for eight years, is delighted: «I can hardly believe that The Chedi Andermatt is already celebrating its 10th birthday. For me, the success of our hotel lies above all in a team that is prepared to go the extra mile for our guests.

Be it in housekeeping, catering, the spa, marketing or event management. Be it in the creation of exceptional drinks, in the selection of our exclusive wines or even at reception. From the very first reception to the final farewell, we put all our efforts into providing our guests with a warm and exceptional service. I would like to thank my team from the bottom of my heart for this commitment and for going the extra mile.»
