The hand-rolled cigar, in the ‘Sobresalientes’ format, will be available from specialist retailers in October 2026. Priced at CHF 64.40 per cigar, this new release is aimed at connoisseurs of classic Cuban tobacco blends. What's new?

The Romeo y Julieta Amantes has been conceived as a standalone anniversary blend. It differs from the brand’s standard ranges in the following ways:

• Reason: The cigar was created specifically to mark the brand’s 150th anniversary.
• Format: The ‘Sobresalientes’ format is not part of the brand’s regular range and is primarily used for special or anniversary editions.
• Blend: A special tobacco blend has been created for this edition, combining traditional processing standards with a tailored balance of filler tobaccos.

Why is this interesting?

From a tobacco perspective, a ring gauge of 53 is a key factor in the smoking experience. A thicker format allows the master blender to combine a greater number of different leaves (Ligero, Seco, Volado) in the filler. This allows for a more complex structure of the mixture.

Furthermore, the relatively large volume of the smoke chamber cools the smoke as it passes through, resulting in a constant temperature at which the tobacco is heated. This ensures that the blend’s characteristics remain consistent right through to the final third of the cigar.
