Luxury or exaggeration?

The packaging: Sensational.

Is the Rocky Patel Conviction worth the price? From Marketing view: very clear - why not. Limited edition, great story, beautiful design, strong brand. It all screams „premium“.

But is it the Tobacco worth? That is difficult to judge. Some of the tobacco comes from the 2014 harvest in Nicaragua, so it has matured over many years. This is rare - and rare is expensive. That's how the market works.

But as always, in the end it's your taste that counts, not the label.

The first impression: packaging, format, ring

Before you even get to the cigar cutter, you get the full cinema experience.

The box: Elegant, ultra-glossy dark brown with golden elements. The ring? Elegant, luxurious, with great attention to detail. You'll notice: this cigar doesn't just want to be smoked, it wants to be savoured. celebrated become.

Vitola: Box-pressed. Handy. Solid. And very photogenic, if you like cigar pictures. Toro.

Limited and hand-picked

Only 4 rollers are allowed to roll the cigar.

What makes this cigar so special is not just the price, but the fact that it is available in produced in small quantities becomes. Only four scooters are working on this project - absolute experts with years of experience. And that's why there are only 5,000 boxes worldwide. That's 50,000 cigars.

This is premium level. So if you like smoking something that not everyone has - you've come to the right place.

The flavours: espresso, wood, leather - and a hint of sweetness

I have a total of four copies the Conviction smoked. And my impression is clear: she is solid. And it is not quite honest as far as the price is concerned (at least I think so). But it is honest in terms of flavour.

What does that mean?

From start to finish you get a Constant flavour profile, almost linear - but not boring. On the contrary: this cigar lives from a marvellous balance.

You can taste it:

• Espresso - strong, dark, almost black
• Wood - dry, elegant, not resinous
• Leather - Not too dominant, but clearly present
• And a very light one at that, fine sweetness, that holds everything together

I particularly liked the Espresso notes, which develop after just a few minutes and last for the entire smoke. The retrohale also brings a nice flavour - but without being aggressive.

Strength: No beginner format

If you like light cigars, then this is the one for you. not your construction site. The Conviction is powerful. 4 from 5 on the strength scale.

If you smoke them in the morning on an empty stomach - good night. After a meal, on the other hand? Perfect. It goes perfectly with a double espresso or a good rum.

Conclusion: collector's item or pleasure object?

The Rocky Patel Conviction is more than just a very high-priced cigar. It is a statement. A statement. And perhaps even a little adventure.

Is it worth the money? If you are a collector, a fan of boutique cigars or simply curious about something special: Yes. If you are simply looking for a good smoke, there are other, cheaper alternatives.

But: You don't just get matured tobacco, not only Limitation, not only Storytelling: 4 rollers, 5000 boxes, gold (well, GOLD colour), tobacco from the 2014 Nicaraguan harvest, great wrapper... Dedication, passion...

Uff, I often read something similar in marketing descriptions!

It gets to the point where a manufacturer claims that he walked through the tobacco fields at midnight with a cigar and was inspired by the heavenly gods... HOPPLA - Wait a minute: wasn't there actually something similar with another brand? 🙄 When I read that at the time, the cigar almost slipped out of the corner of my mouth...

Let's come back: you get a good Craft product, that has been created with real dedication. The wave burn that often occurs usually corrects itself. Well, I had to mention that.

So: Smoke them. And you tell me what you think. Maybe you'll be convinced in the end - or maybe not. But one thing is certain: You won't forget them.
