Ramon Allones Sr Henry - Test report

Ramon Allone's Sr. Henry was presented as a world premiere on Habanos Day in September 2021. The launch and price are currently still unknown. I had the good fortune to test the cigar.

Personal impressions in taste

Recommended minimum ripening period: 3 years.

First half

• Tongue, palate: sweetish / slightly peppery / a little leather / cocoa (bittersweet) / wood / slightly acidic
• Retronasal: peppery / leather / coffee beans
• R+ ZiZo vacuum technology: Lots of wood and lots of leather / lots of coffee beans
• Umami: roasted / juicy
• Strength 3/5

Second half

• Same as above, and this time even more leather, wood, coffee beans, cocoa, a little more acidity

Conclusion

The abbreviation "Sr." stands for "Señor" and "Henry" refers to the name "Heinrich". "Sr. Henry" is therefore the most respectful form of address for Heinrich Villiger, who celebrated his 90th birthday in 2020.

I tasted two samples. Both were of the same quality and taste. The draw resistance was optimal. Towards the end, I was allowed to degas the cigar - the flame was over 10 cm long. This is not a fault of the cigar, because the cigar is still young and needs about 3 years of ageing.

Nevertheless, I was very pleasantly surprised at how good the cigar already tasted. We have an excellent blend with excellent tobacco here. There's nothing to complain about.
