After almost six years, Bárbara Leyva de la Torre's employment with 5THAvenue, the official sole importer of Habanos for Germany, Austria and Poland, is now officially coming to an end. Her duties as representative of Habanos S.A. and Commercial Manager will be taken over by Osmar Hernández Fuentes.

He has worked in the Cuban cigar industry for many years and started at the Cohiba factory „El Laguito“ in 1997 as an employee in the department that assembles the blends. He later worked in this factory as production manager and then took over the management of the entire factory from 2003 to 2006.

In 2007, he moved to the „Briones Montoto“ factory, also known as the Romeo y Julieta factory. Here he worked as head of production from 2007 to 20011. He then started at „La Corona“ in 2011, initially as deputy director, before very successfully managing this largest cigar factory in Cuba as director from 2013 to 2023.

Osmar Hernández has three children and is a keen sports fan. He is particularly fond of baseball, Cuba's national sport. The passionate cigar lover favours the Corona Gorda format. Osmar Hernández is looking forward to his time as Habanos representative at 5^THAvenue and especially to getting to know the many dedicated specialist retailers and aficionados in Germany, Austria and Poland.
