InterTabac 24 exclusive: Back to the future - The Joya Cabinetta Lancero celebrates its comeback

I'm here at Joya de Nicaragua, the oldest cigar manufacturer in Nicaragua, and I'm looking forward to an exciting conversation with Cristhian Lanzas. Let's see what they have in store for InterTabac 2024 this year.

New: Antaño Pata Negra Gran Reserva

"Hello Cristhian, what have you brought us today?" Cristhian smiles. "Hello, I'm Cristhian Lanzas from Joya de Nicaragua. We have some exciting new products that we would like to introduce. First of all, I would like to talk about our latest release: the Antaño Pata Negra Gran Reserva. This special cigar is exclusive to Spain. It is the third year in a row that we have launched a Pata Negra edition."

"What makes the Pata Negra Gran Reserva so special?" I ask with interest. "Well," Cristhian explains, "what makes it special is that we regularly take cigars from our portfolio and turn them into limited, exclusive editions. The Pata Negra Vitola is only available for Spain and the packaging was specially designed for the Spanish market." -Interesting! But that's certainly not all, is it? What else do you have in store?" I ask curiously.

And back is: Joya Cabinetta Lancero

"Of course not! We are also happy to Joya Cabinetta Lancero back. Originally launched in 2009, the Lancero was one of the first formats that people loved. For years, customers have been asking us: 'When are you bringing back the Lancero? And this year we've finally done it - with a beautiful new design."

"That sounds great. What makes this Lancero so special?" -"It combines the best of the past and present," explains Cristhian. "It's a classic vitola that appeals to the hearts of both old and new cigar lovers. What's more, it's only available in limited quantities."

Joya de Nicaragua Jewel Collection

Cristhian takes a breath and smiles proudly. "Another project that is particularly close to our hearts is the Joya de Nicaragua Jewel Collection. This is a real gem - a set that contains every cigar from the entire Joya de Nicaragua portfolio. From the 'Obras Maestras', the high-end premium cigars, to the iconic 'Antaño' range, to the modern 'Joya' line."

"Wow, that sounds like a comprehensive range! What's behind the name 'Jewel Collection'?" I ask. "The name says it all," says Cristhian with a twinkle in his eye. "In English, 'Joya de Nicaragua' means 'Jewel of Nicaragua', so we designed the collection as a box full of gems for cigar lovers. Each cigar is hand-picked and represents the best of our range."

"Sounds like a real highlight for collectors and aficionados!" I say, impressed. "Tell me, Cristhian, how long have you actually been at InterTabac?" -"This is my third year here, but Joya de Nicaragua has been here for over 15 years," he explains.

"15 years! That's a long time. How do you manage to stay in business for so long, especially with all the challenges?" -"It's all about the people," says Cristhian seriously. "Our customers, the media, the retailers - we wouldn't be here without them. And also thanks to people like you, who are still doing their job despite all the crazy regulations and hurdles."

I nod in agreement. "That sounds like a strong community. Finally, is there anything else you'd like to say to the cigar lovers?" Cristhian smiles broadly. "Yes, enjoy your cigars. Take the cigar you love the most, create a relaxing moment and enjoy the taste of our country." -"Thank you, Cristhian, that sounds like a perfect plan!"
