Habanos Day: Finally experience Habanos lovers LIVE again
Habanos Day: 220 cigar lovers at the Havana Enjoyment Weekend on 3 and 4 September 2021 at Bückeburg Castle.
Impressive: Bückeburg Castle
Indulgence has many facets, an impressive selection of which could be experienced at the seventh German HABANOS DAY, which took place at Bückeburg Castle on the first weekend in September.

220 aficionadas and aficionados from all over Germany and Austria attended. In the highly impressive Bückeburg Castle, seat of the Princely House of Schaumburg-Lippe, the focus was on Habanos, probably the best-known luxury product from Cuba. Once again, guests were able to put together their own individual seminar programme from a wide range of options.

Impressive: seminars and workshops
Humidor expert Marc André invited visitors to compare smoking and explained how storage conditions affect the enjoyment of three differently stored cigars. Spirits „guru“ Jürgen Deibel provided exciting insights into the world of casks under the motto „What would whisky be without cask ageing?“.

Lars Laube from the coffee roasting company Kaffeeheimat introduced the participants to the secrets of the brown beans. Luis Mustelier Pérez, who has accompanied the Habanos Torcedor tours in Germany for many years, pointed out the special features of „totalmente a mano“ cigar production, which is still only practised in Cuba, while sommelier Christine Dördelmann from Bremer Weinkolleg presented ideal cigar accompaniments with port wines and rum ambassador Solveig Gerz-Stamenkovic from FFL -Rum Brands- with varieties from the island of Mauritius.

Splendid: Ramon Allone's Regional Edition in honour of Heinrich Villiger
A special highlight was the 5THAvenue presented its guests with the premiere of the Ramon Allones Sr Henry of the Edición Regional Alemania. The abbreviation „Sr.“ stands for „Señor“ and „Henry“ refers to the name „Heinrich“. „Sr. Henry“ is therefore the most respectful form of address for Heinrich Villiger, who celebrated his 90th birthday in 2020. The cigar has a length of 150 mm and a ring gauge of 54. The number 90 can also be seen on the second cigar ring, which is in silver and burgundy red and characterises the cigars of all „Ediciónes Regionales“. Heinrich Villiger is the founder and managing director of 5THAvenue and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Villiger Söhne AG is well known and highly honoured in Cuba.

Great: music, food and Habanos cigars
At an atmospheric evening event in the presence of H.E. Ramón Ripóll Díaz, Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Germany, the HABANOS DAY 2021 came to an enjoyable end with fine champagne from Roederer, fine Habanos and a Caribbean-inspired buffet, accompanied by spirited show interludes by Fiesta Cubana under the direction of Hugo Marcel.

Wonderful: Smoke-in already on Friday evening
The evening before, over 170 guests had already gathered at Bückeburg Castle for the so-called „smoke-in“. At the same time, Gerhard Heimsath honoured the winners of the last Habanos expert competition, which came to an end after 18 years. In future, he will be organising a Habanos expert competition with the support of 5THAvenue will host the Habanos World Challenge Germany, the winners of which will then represent Germany at the international competition as part of the Festival del Habano in Cuba.
HABANOS DAY 2021 was supported by S.T. Dupont, Zenith watches, Hauser, Collonil, Bremer Weinkolleg and the media partners fine tobacco and Smokersnews, among others.
