Feria del Tabaco 24: The magic behind Casa Cuevas and Valentino Siesto
Here at the Uniportis stand, I immediately sense that this is not just about cigars. You can breathe cigar culture here. It's as if the air itself smells of stories of tradition and craftsmanship. In front of me is Salvatore Schaffner, who lives in this world and represents it with passion. I can hardly wait to see what he will conjure up from his magic cigar hat today.

A unique in-house exhibition in Zurich: MANUEL'S brings cigar importers and aficionados together for two enjoyable days at its Feria del Tabaco.
MANUEL'S Feria del Tabaco in Zurich invites cigar lovers to discover the world of cigars at an exclusive in-house exhibition. Numerous cigar importers present their treasures over two days - an event that takes place directly after InterTabac every year.
Casa Cuevas: Four generations of pure cigar magic - From Cuba to the Dominican Republic
"You've got Casa Cuevas and Valentino Siesto with you today," I say curiously as I try to grasp the tension in the air. "But there's something really special at Casa Cuevas, isn't there?"

Salvatore grins mischievously, his eyes sparkling. "Oh yes, absolutely," he says, and you can tell there's a story waiting for me. "Casa Cuevas - that's four generations of pure cigar art! Imagine, this Spanish family has been making cigars in Cuba for decades. But when they left for the Dominican Republic after the revolution, they didn't just pack their bags - they took their roots with them. They even replanted the tobacco seeds. And to this day, my friend, they produce with the same passion as they did over 100 years ago. Pure tradition in every cigar."
I am impressed - this is not just history, this is an epic saga wrapped in tobacco leaves.
Valentino Siesto: From jeweler to cigar maestro - where luxury meets indulgence
While Salvatore is still talking, my gaze wanders to the other side of the stand. Artfully designed boxes sparkle at me - like little treasure chests just waiting to be opened.

"And what about Valentino Siesto?" I ask and can't help but be fascinated by the opulence of the boxes. "They look like little works of art!"
Salvatore smiles knowingly. "Ah, Valentino Siesto - the master of style. A man with an eye for beauty. Originally an Italian jeweler who found his way to the Dominican Republic ten years ago. And guess what: this sense of luxury and detail is evident in everything he touches. Every cigar he creates is a masterpiece. The boxes, the wrappers - everything has to be perfect. It's as if he cuts each cigar like a gemstone until it's flawless."
"The boxes are really elaborately produced!" I say as I admire one of the boxes. "You can really feel the attention to detail." "Exactly," agrees Salvatore. "These cigars are not just for smoking. They are a feast for the senses - a combination of tradition, craftsmanship and pure art."
And so I stand there, in the middle of this world of cigars, and realize: this is about more than just tobacco. It is a declaration of love for craftsmanship, style and passion.
