Don Alejandro’s: A home for cigar enthusiasts for the past 10 years
Ten years is, for example, a considerable ageing period for a cigar. And all the more so for a cigar lounge. On 15 August 2026, Angela and Daniel Schneebeli celebrated the tenth anniversary of their Don Alejandro’s Cigar Lounge in Dietlikon with their guests.

And the celebrations were certainly not exactly quiet.

Can you hear that unmistakable laugh? 😆
Before long, that distinctive scent – one that cigar lovers recognise instantly – hung over the square. Amidst it all were music, voices, clinking glasses, laughter – and a live Cuban band that, for a few hours, brought Dietlikon a good deal closer to Havana in terms of atmosphere. Later, the DJ took over. There was food to enjoy and, above all, plenty of opportunity to savour a fine cigar together.
A lounge became a meeting place
When Angela and Daniel Schneebeli opened Don Alejandro’s ten years ago, they created more than just a place with armchairs and a humidor. Today, the lounge is one of those meeting places where the Swiss cigar scene regularly gathers.

The centrepiece is the walk-in humidor, featuring a wide selection from Cuba, Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic and other countries of origin. Yet there is something even more important than the selection: people come for a cigar – and often stay because of the people. That was exactly the atmosphere on this anniversary evening. Old friends met up again, new acquaintances were made, cigars were discussed and stories were told.

Ten years of Don Alejandro’s can therefore perhaps best be summed up as follows: Many cigars have long since turned to ash. The memories of those encounters remain.
Here’s to the next ten years!
