A cigar test is subjective
Note: How a cigar tastes is influenced by personal taste preferences, taste memories, the form of the day, what you have eaten or drunk beforehand. Even the lighting in the room has an influence on the flavour you experience. The notes described here therefore do not necessarily correspond to your own impressions.

Personal impressions of the pleasure
Recommended minimum ripening time: 3 days.
First half
- Tongue, palate: sweetish / nutty / slightly spicy / cocoa (bittersweet) / a brutal amount of coffee beans on the tongue - fantastic! / slightly acidic
- Retronasalsweet / peppery / lots of cocoa (dark chocolate) / coffee beans - PENG - full load - absolutely brilliant!
- R+ ZiZo vacuum technology: slightly peppery / full load of coffee beans - this combination with retronasal and tongue/palate is simply amazing
- Umami: juicy / roasted
- Strength 3/5

Second half
- The flavours described become more intense. The coffee beans in particular increase even more and an earthy flavour mixes with everything else. Grandiose.
- Strength 4/5 and lots of nicotine
Conclusion and limited tobacco availability
Davidoff Dominicana is a cigar that has a fantastic tobacco blend. All the tobaccos are aged for 6 years before the cigar is rolled. The cigar was then stored for another year or so before it went on sale. The price is interesting: the Toro costs CHF 24.00, the Short Robusto CHF 18.50 and the Robusto CHF 21.50.
ATTENTION: This cigar has it all! It starts with a maximum strength of 2.5/5. In the course of the smoke it increases to a 4/5 with a lot of nicotine. Please be careful with the smoke. Even experienced cigar connoisseurs may experience some body tingling due to the strength - haha - ?

This line of cigars will exist as long as the tobacco is available. To put it plainly: once the tobacco has been used up, this line will no longer be available. I therefore recommend that you buy a nice supply of this cigar. Because even years later, this cigar will still give a fantastic smoke.
The wrapper is - in my opinion - slightly rustic with some thick veins. This doesn't bother me as long as there are no tree trunks in the wrapper leaf. I am enthusiastic about the tobacco blend anyway. Oettinger Davidoff's marketing department has commissioned the master blenders to create something super interesting here, and they have realised it perfectly.
I tested three specimens. All three scored almost identically; all with a score of 4.1 / 4.4 and 4.3. On average, this results in a score of 4.26 out of a possible 5 points. The ash holds well and is still somewhat flaky. A little caution is advised, it can fall off suddenly. Purchase recommendation: An immediate YES without reservation.
