Davidoff Year Of The Rabbit 2023 - in Switzerland from 17.11.22: It's the eleventh anniversary in a row of Davidoff's Year Of line. This time it's a Perfecto format. The packaging contains 10 fine cigars in an outstanding box. The cigar costs CHF 50.00 / pc. I tested four cigars before the launch. A cigar test is subjective

Davidoff Year Of The Rabbit 2023 in Perfecto format (cigar tapers to a point at the foot and the head). In the first 5 minutes I don't count a Perfecto format towards the rating. Only then, when the ash reaches the thicker part of the cigar: The reason: The tobacco in the tip is not as contained in the blend as from the thicker part. Of course, this is not a fault of the cigar, but is normal. The burn can also be uneven in the first five minutes; this is also not a fault of the cigar. As you can see in the photo, the ash is compact and the burn is even.The wrapper: silky, oily /// The cigar is evenly constructed, the colour is a beautiful medium brown. The cold draw is slightly sweet. It is easy to light and the draw resistance is optimal. Interesting: In all four specimens, there were three cases of crooked burn in similar places. It corrected itself on all of them, the flame only had to help once per cigar. Everything is in the green zone.The second anilla shows the hare; I personally like the design of the illustration. I also like the fact that the rabbit's points protrude over the edge of the anilla, as well as his chin. I just love little details like that.Aftertaste impressions: Tongue, retronasal and R+ technique, it is slightly intense and has left a lasting, positive impression on me.The room note (flavour of the smoke) seems „rich“ to me. Difficult to describe. It smelled pleasant, not at all intrusive, but had a „warm“ impression on me. (how can you talk so much about smoke...) 😉
Davidoff Year Of The Rabbit 2023: The flavour
The cigar slowly intensifies during the smoke and the flavour nuances become more intense. It is a cigar that is not at all overwhelming, making it ideal for beginners. It has pronounced coffee bean flavours (slightly acidic) on the tongue, both retronasal and R+ technique.All four flavours tasted similar. There were small differences, of course, because I tested them at different times. It is slightly peppery, with some leather added over time.In this and the following photo you can see how the ash falls off 🙂 Wow, lucky you: the Davidoff Anilla is touched, but remains in place for the final photo (next photo).A good portion of soil is added during the second half. I really enjoyed the specimens. I recommend acclimatisation for 14 days after purchase (with cellophane in the humidor, or the whole box in the humidor).
