HR Signature Belicoso Jar Review - powerful, spicy, balanced

Strength at least 4/5, more likely even 5/5. The HR Signature Belicoso Jar Review starts for me without hesitation: lots of body, lots of presence, no restraint. I sit there, light up - and I'm right in the middle of it. No slow approach. This cigar is there straight away. Power with structure. And that's exactly what you notice here surprisingly early on. The moment

26.03.2026, early afternoon. No stress, no noise. Just the right moment for a cigar that demands attention. If you consciously take your time and don't smoke on the side, this cigar will show you what it can do. If you give it space, it will give you back structure.

Setup & cold draw

I cut cleanly, without experimentation, naturally at an angle, as befits this tapered format. The pull test: perfect straight away. No resistance, no pulling necessary. That's exactly how you want it. The cold draw already reveals a direction: spicy, slightly earthy, with a dense, almost „meaty“ impression. Not a sweet start, but directly serious.

The first five minutes

Light it - and something happens immediately. The cigar starts strongly. Not aggressive, but present. I immediately get umami, that rich, almost savoury feeling in my mouth. It's flavoured with pepper, but in a controlled manner. No burning, but a clear accent. The smoke is dense, voluminous. You realise immediately: this is not a light smoke.

Flavour progression

First half

The first half stays on course. Lots of leather. Lots of wood. Both clearly recognisable, nothing blurred. Plus this spicy peppery flavour that keeps coming through without becoming dominant. The strength stabilises at around 3.5 out of 5. Noticeable, but pleasantly wearable. What surprises me: the balance. Despite the intensity, nothing seems chaotic.

Second half

Now the cigar picks up. The strength goes up, towards 4 out of 5. The smoke becomes denser, warmer. The flavours become denser - less variety, more depth. The leather becomes darker, the wood drier. The spiciness remains, but becomes a little rounder. No bitter crash, but a controlled finish.

Draught & combustion

The train is optimised throughout. That's exactly how it should be. It burns cleanly. The ash is compact and stable. No major adjustments necessary. Smoking temperature remains pleasant - even in the last third. What you can do if it does go wrong: just re-fire it briefly and continue smoking in peace - it quickly recovers.

The HR Signature Belicoso Jar Review is not a cigar for on the side. It challenges you. But it also rewards you. Lots of umami, lots of leather, lots of wood - carried by a remarkable balance. What sticks with you? Not a single flavour. But the feeling that everything fits together here. Would I smoke it again? Yes. Because it delivers exactly what it promises: power with control.

I admit: I tested three of them. And each time I didn't take any photos of the final. I was overwhelmed by their power. And that happens to me very rarely.
