Cigar history repeated - The White Band is The Difference
Davidoff Cigars proudly presents its new Grand Cru Diademas Finas Limited Edition Collection, which has been refined with a filler tobacco matured in a Premier Grand Cru Classé red wine barrel.
Davidoff's "Cigar History Repeated" concept is an integral part of Davidoff's "The Difference" campaign, which was recently awarded "Best Campaign 2023" in the tobacco category by "DFNI - Duty Free News International" magazine. The campaign aims to surprise Davidoff's loyal aficionados with interesting and detailed insights into the unique cigar making process. The communication highlights the White Band Collection with its award-winning lines and offers fascinating behind-the-scenes insights into Davidoff's extraordinary efforts to excel from the first seed to the last puff.

Davidoff Grand Cru Diademas Finas Limited Edition Collection

With the launch of the Grand Cru Diademas Finas Limited Edition Collection, the world market leader for handmade premium cigars has revealed another interesting fact about its cigar production: Davidoff cultivates 15 terroirs in the Dominican Republic. The tobaccos from the individual terroirs provide individual sensory experiences, as different growing conditions produce different aroma profiles.
"The possibilities that the different terroirs offer in wine production and the
Blending at least three different main grape varieties in the production of French wines inspired Zino Davidoff in 1946 to create a line of cigars that are blended in the same way as a fine red wine. The line we know today as Davidoff Grand Cru has its origins in this wine-cigar analogy," explains Edward Simon, CMO at Oettinger Davidoff. "Our new Grand Cru Diademas Finas with a wine barrel-aged filler tobacco is based on this idea, as the cigar perfectly reflects the main flavors of a well-aged red wine."
Taste experience

The Dominican San Vicente Seco filler tobacco has a finer leaf that can absorb more of the wine flavors from the barrel and helps the cigar to resemble the character of a red wine - a combination that caresses the palate like a wine swirled in a glass.

The extraordinary experience begins with pronounced citrus notes. As soon as the filler tobaccos take the lead, the taste develops towards pepper and roasted nuts. Creamy notes contribute to the remarkable balance of the cigar. In the second third, the Dominican San Vicente Seco matured in wine barrels comes to the fore. Aromas of dark cherries dominate and are complemented by oak and earth. The grand finale of the Diademas Finas is characterized by pronounced notes of walnut and increasing intensity. Additional aromas of fresh spice and vanilla round off the Grand Cru experience.
