Since the first global edition in 2013, Davidoff has fascinated aficionados around the world with annually changing creations around the Chinese New Year. In 2026, the brand is continuing this tradition: with tobaccos made from the company's own hybrid seeds, vintage filler tobaccos and a completely new format.

Toro Especial: A premiere with 43 years of tobacco history

Toro Special cigar - a format that Davidoff is presenting for the first time.

At the center of the Davidoff Year of the Horse 2026 Limited Edition is the Toro Special cigar - a format that Davidoff is presenting for the first time. Its blend consists exclusively of the company's own hybrid seeds with a total age of 43 years. Three Dominican vintage tobaccos give it complexity and depth.

The medium-intensity cigar offers a medium to full body and develops creamy, chocolaty and nutty notes over 70 to 90 minutes. The long, elegant finish is reminiscent of the lingering presence of a noble horse.

The Flagship Exclusive Torpedo is available exclusively in the Davidoff of Geneva since 1911 Flagship stores available. It shares the same blend as the Toro Especial, but comes in a patented torpedo format, which is being used for the first time for a limited edition.

Only 600 boxes of 24 cigars will be available worldwide - a real collector's item for aficionados.

Torpedo? I say this with great respect and kindness: it's a pyramid format. Why? The explanation follows immediately.

May I take the liberty of making a comment: Actually this is a pyramid format (and „unreal“ too). Why? The foot is wide at the bottom and the cigar gets narrower towards the head; at least that's what the cigar looks like in the photo. A torpedo format, on the other hand, is the same thickness from head to foot, except that only the head tapers into a steep tip.

Design with symbolic power: happiness, elegance and tradition

The Limited Edition (10 cigars) and Flagship Exclusive (24 cigars) cigars are presented in elegant wooden boxes with a design inspired by horses. The dark natural wood harmonizes with the lucky color red, which is traditionally associated with the Chinese New Year. A green, stitched frame is reminiscent of a saddle blanket, while a detachable strap symbolizes the reins.

The inner lid bears an engraved Davidoff logo and a fine horseshoe pattern - a subtle reference to luck. Each cigar is provided with a second band, whose green accents belong to the horse's lucky colors.

Accessories Gift Set: Artful indulgence

The accessory gift set.

The accessory gift set, inspired by the horse as master of ceremony, enriches every cigar ritual. The edition's red and green color scheme conceals a white and gold porcelain ashtray for two cigars, a leather case in a matching shade and a gold double blade cutter for ring sizes up to 60.

All accessories are limited to 328 pieces and are only available as a gift set - a real highlight for aficionados who appreciate something special.

Masterpiece Humidor: craftsmanship at the highest level

Masterpiece humidor.

The Year of the Horse Masterpiece Humidor is the centerpiece of the collection. It depicts a rearing horse that combines strength, dynamism and elegance. The motif was painted by Chengyu Wang and realized by the French artist Agnès Paul-Depasse in filigree straw inlay technique.

One week of handwork. Only 20 pieces worldwide.

Each humidor takes around a week to make by hand and is limited to 20 pieces worldwide. A personalized plaque makes each one unique.

Inside are 88 Gran Toro cigars with the same blend as the Toro Especial and Torpedo. In Chinese culture, the number eight is considered a lucky number - it stands for prosperity and success.
