Davidoff expands its Voyager’s Selection range with the Winston Churchill Assortment

For the first time, The Original Series and The Late Hour Series are being offered in a joint edition. The range combines these two lines for the first time in a Gran Robusto format, which is not included in the regular portfolio.

Davidoff is further expanding its Voyager’s Selection range, which was launched in early 2026. The new product is available exclusively through Global Travel Retail.

The Voyager’s Selection Winston Churchill contains four cigars each from The Original Series and The Late Hour Series, which are being offered together in the Gran Robusto format for the first time.

Two well-known ranges in one collection

The new Voyager’s Selection combines two established Winston Churchill ranges in a single pack. It contains four cigars each of the The Original Series as well as the The Late Hour Series. Both ranges are based on multi-origin blends featuring tobaccos from the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, Mexico and Ecuador. The Original Series is medium-strength, whilst the Late Hour Series contains tobacco that has been further aged in whisky casks and is designed to be stronger. The packaging has been specially developed for the travel retail sector and combines cardboard with wooden elements. A hologram identifies the edition as a product for the global travel retail market.

What's new?

The key innovation lies in the choice of vitola and the bundling concept:

• Packaging design: The cigars are supplied in a cardboard box with wooden inserts, designed for air travel and other forms of travel; it is notable for its light weight and features an authenticity hologram for the travel retail sector.

• Exclusive format: Both blends have been adapted to the format for this range Gran Robusto rolled (ring gauge 55, length 14.0 cm). This size is not part of the standard range of the Winston Churchill series.

• Product range combination: The «Original Series», with its light-coloured wrapper, and the darker «Late Hour Series» are not available together in a single box from regular specialist retailers.

Why is this interesting?

From the perspective of manufacturing technology and tobacco expertise, the conversion of existing blend products into a larger ring gauge presents specific physical characteristics:

With a ring gauge of 55 (diameter 2.2 cm), the Gran Robusto format is noticeably more substantial than classic Robustos (usually with a ring gauge of 50) or Toro formats. This shifts the balance between the filler blend and the surrounding wrapper in favour of the filler. With a larger diameter, more air flows through the burn zone when the cigar is drawn on, which can slightly lower the combustion temperature.

Physically, the cooler burn results in a more even release of the tobacco’s volatile compounds, without individual components becoming bitter due to excessive heat. Due to the design, the smoke volume is greater. Cigar smokers are thus given the opportunity to observe how identical tobacco blends behave when the cigar is rolled with a wider diameter.

The new Davidoff Voyager’s Selection Winston Churchill has been specially developed for the global travel retail market and combines travel-friendly packaging with an exclusive range.
