What's new?
The novelty lies primarily in the selection and packaging of existing and historic blends. The «Prime Collection» brings together a variety of La Aurora blends in a single box. Formats such as the «Guillermo León Lancero» and the «Fernando León Belicoso» offer specific levels of ageing and tobacco combinations.
The «120th Anniversary Limited Edition Jar» is a beautiful presentation piece. The ceramic jar serves as a reusable storage container for collectors.

Why is this interesting?
From a tobacco specialist’s perspective, the «Prime Collection» offers a direct comparison of different blend concepts from a single manufacturer. In particular, the comparison of different wrapper leaves (for example, Ecuadorian versus extra-aged Dominican Corojo) and binder leaves (such as Cameroonian versus Dominican Olor) highlights the influence of the choice of binder and wrapper leaves on the overall character of a cigar.

The Lancero format (ring gauge 40 for the Guillermo León and the classic slim format for the 120 Anniversary) has a higher ratio of wrapper to filler tobacco due to its small diameter. Due to its design, this means that the influence of the wrapper and binder on the smoking characteristics is more pronounced than with larger ring gauges such as the Toro (ring gauge 54).
The ceramic jar provides a stable environment for storage, maintaining a constant level of relative humidity. Unlike unvarnished wood, ceramic does not impart any of its own aromas or release moisture, and therefore does not affect the ageing process of the cigars through the influence of foreign wood.
Limited editions for specialist retailers in Switzerland: 100 cases and 100 bars
The «Prime Collection» comprises ten cigars in five different sizes and tobacco blends. The selection covers various historical periods and blends from the manufacturer:
- 120th Anniversary Lancero (Limited Edition): A slim-format cigar with a Dominican Habano ’92 wrapper, an Olor binder and a filler blend of Piloto, Cubano, Olor and Corojo.
- Guillermo León Lancero (6 7/8 x 40): It is made from an Ecuadorian wrapper, an African binder from Cameroon, and filler sections from the Cibao Valley, Nicaragua and Peru.
- Fernando León Belicoso (6¼ x 52): It combines an extra-aged Corojo wrapper with a binder from Ecuador and a filler blend from Peru, Brazil, Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic.
- La Aurora 100 Años Belicoso (6¼ x 52): A Figurado creation in which the wrapper, binder and filler are made entirely from tobaccos from the Cibao Valley in the Dominican Republic.
- Hors d’Age Toro (6 x 54): It uses a wrapper and binder from Ecuador, as well as filler tobaccos from Colombia, the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua.
Alongside this, the «120th Anniversary Belicoso» is being released in a ceramic jar. The jar is designed to hold 20 cigars. The blend contained within corresponds to the tobacco composition of the 120th Anniversary range, featuring a Habano «92 wrapper and a Dominican Olor binder.
