The creation of the Davidoff Black Band Collection is one of the most exciting developments in the modern world of cigars. Today, the line is a symbol of powerful, aromatic, high-quality enjoyment; of elegance without exaggeration and of an aesthetic that deliberately sets itself apart from the classic Davidoff cigars. But how did this concept come about? What was the vision behind it? And why was the Black Band Collection created in the first place?

In the e-booklet, Sam Reuter (Head Of Innovation, Oettinger Davidoff, Basel) describes the thinking behind the series. These insights are extraordinary because they normally remain internal. Sam talks about the moments when it became clear: This line will be a turning point. It will look different, speak differently, be understood differently.

Many Davidoff aficionados know the cigars - but not the story behind them. This e-booklet fills precisely this gap.

The joint work - history put into words

Creating this e-booklet was an extremely exciting process in which I put Sam's memories, thoughts and design philosophy into a clear, comprehensible form. The aim was not just to document, but to tell the story: Why this line was created, how it was conceived and how it was shaped.

Sam Reuter is much more than a designer. He is a chronicler of modern Davidoff enjoyment. And his perspective makes this work unique.
