With the Julieta No. 3 format, Trinidad Villa is introducing a size previously unused by the Trinidad brand. With a length of 170 mm and a ring gauge of 47 (diameter approx. 18.65 mm), this vitola differs significantly from shorter or thicker formats in the existing range.

Another new feature is the combination of the specific crate size (12 items) and the distribution concept. Whilst the Julieta No. 3 size is a traditional one within the Habanos portfolio, the Trinidad Villa marks the first time it has been produced as a special edition for specialist retailers, namely La Casa del Habano and Habanos Specialists.

The specially designed wooden box is designed to hold 12 Julieta No. 3 cigars and features the gold-plated Trinidad logo.

Why is this interesting?

The ratio of length to diameter has a direct influence on the smoking characteristics and the temperature profile during combustion. The Julieta No. 3 format features a relatively long smoking length combined with a moderate diameter. This means that the cigar draws more slowly whilst being smoked, and the smoke volume builds up gradually as it burns.

By choosing a relatively slim ring gauge of 47 in relation to a length of 170 mm, the wrapper accounts for a higher percentage of the tobacco volume in each puff than with thicker formats (such as a ring gauge of 52 or 54). Furthermore, the long smoke channel promotes continuous cooling of the smoke before it reaches the palate. The effect this has on the flavour, in conjunction with the fermentation and maturation levels of the Vuelta Abajo tobaccos used, can only be determined through an objective analysis of the construction and burn characteristics..

The name „Villa“ refers to the historic colonial buildings in the Cuban city of Trinidad, whose architecture has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1988. The tobacco used for the filler, binder and wrapper comes entirely from the growing areas of the Vuelta Abajo region in the province of Pinar del Río.

A distinctive feature of the Trinidad Villa’s production is the use of a light brown wrapper, which is classified within the industry as „carmelito claro“.

Habanos S.A. is expanding the Trinidad brand portfolio with a new vitola called Villa. The cigar is available in the Julieta No. 3 size and will be sold exclusively through the La Casa del Habano specialist retail network and at Habanos Specialists.

According to the press release issued by the Swiss company Intertabak AG (Cohiba Vistosos Travel Humidor, Trinidad Villa, Montecristo Herederos), which showcased the three new products, the Trinidad Villa is now also going on sale in Germany.
