Year-end meeting of the Cigarren Club Sonne Sissach: Embers, enjoyment, and cellar worlds
Twenty-six participants gathered at the Sonne Sissach restaurant, where a small enchanted garden had been created outside on the forecourt: Christmas music filled the air, aperitifs were served, and a fire pit not only provided warmth but also immediately created a feeling that no one needed to rush anywhere today. Slow down a little, smile a little more—and you'll find yourself at just the right pace.
From the magic of Christmas straight into the cellar worlds
After the aperitif, we went down into the famous cellars of Sonne Sissach—into the two rooms of the Cigar Club. And yes, cellars can be many things. Here, it is one thing above all else: a privilege.
Two worlds side by side:
The cigar lounge – exclusively for members

One room is the cigar lounge and clearly the home of the members. A place that doesn't need to be loud to make an impression. Anyone who sits here knows that this is not „just any room“ – it's a club atmosphere that cannot be replicated.

The second room – newly furnished and available to rent for parties
The second room, completely newly furnished. This room can also be booked for events outside the club.
Right next door is the second room, which can also be rented for parties. Recently completely refurbished—and you can tell right away: this wasn't just a simple „spruce up,“ it was a complete redesign. Stylish, fresh, inviting.
And the most important thing for anyone who really wants to enjoy cigars: both rooms have excellent ventilation. You can enjoy your cigar without compromise, without excuses, without saying „yes, we'll air the room out later.“.
Cuisine? As always: far above regional standards
And then there's the food. As always: an excellent menu. The quality of these club events is well known far beyond the region – and that's exactly the point: you don't just come here to smoke. You come because the whole evening is just right here. The food, the atmosphere, the people, the service—everything is of a standard that is not achieved by chance. The team led by owners Michele Linsalata and his wife Adriana Linsalata have made Sonne Sissach a wonderful place. Be sure to stop by!
The club is growing rapidly—and yes, I had „visions.“
The Cigarren Club Sonne Sissach is growing very quickly. So quickly that, during the course of the evening, I suggested (in all seriousness, of course) that the club should simply build its own event venue—and then we'd look for a few sponsors. (Haha. Just kidding. Or am I?)
Outlook for 2026: Zigarren.Zone returns to Sissach
These basement worlds are not just a club secret: in 2026, these premises will also host a few events organized by Zigarren.Zone.
One event will take place within a club event, several others outside the club – with tickets available to the public.
