I light the<strong> Villiger 1888 Nicaragua Churchill<\/strong> and immediately realise that this is not a cigar for those in a hurry. It feels like a quiet walk over dark earth after a warm rain. Everything is grounded, coherent, without gimmickry. That's exactly what makes it so pleasant. A wonderful cigar. If I were to award points, I would give it a 90. Then this great umami wave opens up: savoury, almost meaty, like a slowly braised jus that lends depth and seriousness to the whole. You will search in vain for bitterness. Instead, there is a finely balanced, acidic-bitter balance - honest, dry, uncompromisingly tobacco. No chocolate sauce, no sugar icing. From the first puff to the last, it remains even and reliable, so natural that you don't even think about it. The burn draws its line calmly downwards, like a candle on a windless table. No flickering, no stress. Relighting becomes a side note, interventions are rare. Everything seems harmonious. The wrapper glows lightly in gentle waves, lively but controlled, and almost always finds its way back to a straight line of its own accord. Only now and again do I touch it briefly with the flame - not to save it, but to accompany it.
