Montecristo Open Slam is the name of the new cigar from Cuba. It was presented on the opening evening of the 23rd Habanos Festival (ring gauge 52 x 142 mm length). The price and launch have not been announced. Welcome to the welcome evening<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Club Habana was once again the ideal setting for the opening evening of the 23rd Habano Festival. It lasts until Friday, 3 March 2023, in La Habana. The evening was dedicated to the renowned Montecristo brand. The highlight was the launch of the new Vitola Montecristo Open Slam (ring gauge 52 x 142 mm length).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This new product in the brand's portfolio will be part of the L\u00ednea Open, Montecristo's oldest line and one of the most popular and recognised among Habanos aficionados. It will be launched in boxes of 15 to 20 Habanos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The product complements the four vitolas Eagle (54 ring gauge x 150 mm length), Regata (46 ring gauge x 135 mm length), Master (50 ring gauge x 124 mm length) and Junior (38 ring gauge x 110 mm length), which are already part of the L\u00ednea and were originally developed by Habanos for open-air aficionados.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But this was not the only novelty unveiled during this first special night of the 23rd Habano Festival. The more than 1,200 guests attended the world premiere of the renewed image of L\u00ednea Open, which refers to the logo and banding, in which the colour green is more prominent; however, the characteristic yellow of the Montechristo brand remains. Slam by Montecristo's L\u00ednea Open will be the first vitola to adopt this new visual identity. The rest of the L\u00ednea range will gradually adopt it as the stock is phased out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But first, the Co-Presidents of Habanos, S.A., Maritza Carrillo Gonz\u00e1lez and Luis S\u00e1nchez-Harguindey Pardo de Vera, thanked aficionados, distributors and professionals in the Habanos world for their support, perseverance and hard work during the pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unsurprisingly, good food, music and entertainment played an important role in the event. The group Teatro Fusion-Mimos and musical artists DJ Leo Milano, Circo de Cuba, Yarima Blanco, Yanet Vald\u00e9s, M\u00f3nica Mesa and M\u00e1quina Perfecta created a festive atmosphere, and a drone show lit up the skies of La Habana to the delight of all those present. The renowned photographer, filmmaker and cameraman for television, film and video productions Alejandro P\u00e9rez was responsible for closing the opening night of the festival with his Vitrola Cuban Mix project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Habanos Awards 2022 - the nominees<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The nominees for the Habanos Awards 2022 were also announced on this occasion: Danny Abad\u00ed, Alain Proietto and Blanca Alsogaray in the Business category; Gloria de la Caridad Rodr\u00edguez, Reyniel L\u00e1zaro Rojas Medina and Yoandry Rodr\u00edguez Porras in the Production category; and Jasim Ahmed, Yukio Kawashima and Juan Jes\u00fas Mach\u00edn in the Communication category. The names of the final winners will be announced on the last day of the festival during the gala evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
