First impression of the Petit Panetela by Davidoff Winston Churchill Late Hour

The first five minutes of the Petit Panetela start off medium-bodied and very well balanced.

The first five minutes of the Petit Panetela start off medium-bodied and very well balanced.

I take one of the cigars from the elegant tin box of 5, each individually wrapped in cellophane - a visual promise! The first challenge: how long can you smoke them? The product description promises 15 minutes of smoking pleasure. Pah! For me it's almost 60 minutes. Yes, I'm a slow smoker, but who counts minutes when pleasure calls?

The first five minutes

Light it? A piece of cake. The train? Optimal. The construction? Perfect. The burn? Impeccable. The strength; 3/5. The taste? Pleasant, but wait and see...

The distinctive flavor nuances in the first five minutes: Wood, earth, nut. Perfect balance. Late Hour!

First and second half

I have to say: this Petit Panetela long filler really packs a punch! Late Hour!

I have to say: this Petit Panetela long filler really packs a punch! 😅

Here it comes: the aftertaste remains positive in the memory, which is good. The aroma is spicy (that's the smell of smoke). The taste is a palette of nuts, light pepper, leather, dark cocoa, coffee beans, wood and earth. And then, in the second half, the highlight: the Petit Panetela becomes slightly sweet - simply incredible! A perfect balance.

From the second half, the Logfiller becomes stronger, strength 3/5. The cigar gains depth: very light fruity notes accompanied by lots of wood and nut, the earth has become somewhat weaker. Dark cocoa is also slightly present. Winston Churchill Late Hour.

    1. In June 24 at my event, a guest will kindly bring me a tin of the LE that he still has with him. Then I can compare them. I don't have a tasting report of the LE from back then, just my memory that I thought it was great. I'm curious.

      1. I'm also curious.
Changes are inevitable (climate, seasonal weather conditions), but the basic tone should still be there, unless the blend has been revised.
