Cigars, culinary delights and a humorous mishap: Zigarren.Zone celebrates 10 years in Basel

What an evening! Zigarren.Zone celebrated its 10th anniversary in Basel on 02.06.24 with style and lots of good humor. For this special occasion, the renowned cigar brand Gilbert de Montsalvat created two exclusive cigar series for Zigarren.Zone that made the hearts of cigar lovers beat faster. The Zigarren.Zone anniversary cigar is now available in a limited edition exclusively from Portmann Tabakwaren AG; take advantage of this unique purchase, now available in the online store and on site in Kreuzlingen.

Buying cigars and how they taste
Interestingly, I personally find the strength of the two series to be exactly the opposite 😅 But the participants found series 2 to be stronger. The bundle of 10 costs only CHF 150.00 and is available exclusively in Switzerland from Portmann Tabakwaren AG.
Both series have a complex structure and are characterized by dark chocolate, wood and leather nuances as well as nutty roasted aromas.

The team from Halle 7 / blindekuh Basel: Thank you so much for your wonderful service! My thanks also go to the kitchen, you all did a great job!
The evening began with a delicious aperitif, accompanied by a Gilbert de Montsalvat cigar. The guests were able to sit back and relax and celebrate the first moment of pleasure of the evening. This was followed by an exquisite three-course menu that left no culinary wish unfulfilled. But that was not all: a total of 12 anniversary cigars from Zigarren.Zone in two different series were available for tasting and provided plenty to talk about among the guests.
Talent for improvisation required due to technical breakdown

Raymondo Bernasconi (brand owner of Gilbert de Montsalvat) and Vasilij Ratej (owner of Zigarren.Zone) improvise on stage. The guests enjoyed it 🤗
A technical glitch could not dampen the mood. Unfortunately, the planned video clips for the supporting program could not be shown as the location's large LED wall had failed. But in the best improvisation style, Raymondo Bernasconi, owner of Gilbert de Montsalvat and The Royal Cigar Company AG Basel, and I spontaneously took to the stage to entertain the guests. Raymondo Bernasconi's marketing man, Dominik Mezzomo, also presented the very special cigar shirts (for a link to the online store, see Resources on the topic). The participants took it with humor - "That was almost a Cuban solution," laughed one participant, who clearly enjoyed the improvised entertainment.
Raffle and generous gifts

Three lucky winners 🏆
Three lucky winners of the raffle were able to enjoy a large table cutter, a smaller table cutter and a Gilbert de Montsalvat ashtray. But Raymondo Bernasconi went one better: the Gilbert de Montsalvat ashtrays set up in the hall could simply be taken home by the guests. The venue was also generously rewarded and received several ashtrays.
Praise for service and ambience and the question of where to buy ZiZo cigars

The two series of cigars in bundles of 10 at CHF 150.00 each are available from Portmann Tabakwaren AG.
The participants were full of praise for the attentive service staff and the excellent food. "But Vasilij, where can I buy your cigars now?" I was often asked. I haven't revealed that yet, but only now 🤗 The guests were particularly impressed by the relaxed atmosphere: "I particularly liked the fact that there was no hustle and bustle, but that we could all talk to each other. It was very stimulating, even in the lounge on the second floor of the location. A very nice, successful anniversary," praised one participant.
An evening full of memories

The ladies also enjoyed it ☀️
It was a successful celebration that struck a perfect balance between conviviality and improvisation. An evening that will live long in the memory. Here's to the next 10 years of Zigarren.Zone!
