InterTabac 24 exclusive: First appearance, first trophy - Nova Platinum Cigars conquers Europe

I'm still sitting here comfortably at Kopp, and what do I see? Something that I discovered, tried out and really celebrated earlier this year: Nova Platinum! I'm really excited because I now have the opportunity to speak briefly with Leonor "Leo" Abzaradel, the brand's CEO. Let's see what she has to tell me.

The author behind these articles is Oliver - survivalist, winter griller, TV fuzzie from Bonn. He constantly fails at trying to stay sporty, loves cigars, rock'n'roll, barbecues, bad jokes and single malt whisky. He is now too old to grow up.

Winning a trophy at the very first appearance!

"Leo, thank you for taking the time for me. I'm thrilled to see your brand here!"

Leo smiles broadly and answers with a palpable enthusiasm: "Thank you, I'm flashed! I want to tell everyone how incredibly happy I am to be here in Germany - for the very first time! And then also with our complete Nova Platinum line." - "Tell me more about these cigars, Leo!"

"Sure! We made the cigars in the Dominican Republic, 80 % of the tobacco comes from there, the remaining 20 % from Nicaragua. Our idea was to create a cigar for every taste. And here, in Germany, we are at a trade fair for the first time - and you know what? We even won a trophy! Best Dominican cigar, can it get any better? I am simply overwhelmed."

"Awesome! That means you're here for the first time and you've really cleaned up. How does that feel, Leo?" - "It's incredible! I'm not just happy, I just feel blessed. It's the first time I've presented my brand here in Europe and the response has been fantastic. People love Nova and that makes me so proud."

Leo proudly shows off the trophy, flashed.

A real flash

"What's your biggest takeaway from this event?" - "To be honest? Everything! It's a huge opportunity to present our brand to a new audience. Everyone tries our cigars and gives us such great feedback. It's been a real flash here, we've made so many new contacts and I'm looking forward to coming back."

"Speaking of Flash - I have to tell you, I smoked the Platinum Batch Toro, the Maduro. Somehow the taste reminds me a little of Davidoff. Was that on purpose?" Leo laughs: "I don't want to talk too much about other brands, but what you're tasting is the quality of our tobacco. We use old, matured tobacco, which gives that special taste. And the San Andres wrapper from Mexico gives it a unique touch."

You have to stand out

"So, this is a real boutique product, right?" -"Yes, definitely! If you want to be successful in the boutique segment, you have to stand out. That's why we only use the best tobacco from around the world. Our cigars speak for themselves, and the feedback we get here confirms that we're on the right track."

"That sounds fantastic! I look forward to continuing to enjoy your cigars. Thank you, Leo, for the great conversation!" - "Thank you, Oliver. It was a pleasure!"
